This shoot of The Shorekeeper took nearly a month from early prep to final delivery. Rather than simply slipping into the outfit and clicking the shutter, I wanted to channel the character's tranquil, coolly aloof presence touched with protective devotion. Because Wuthering Waves interweaves sci-fi post-apocalyptic themes with oceanic motifs, I introduced numerous refined calibrations across wardrobe, makeup, and props.

First, regarding the attire and hair styling: I layered the wig deliberately to keep the bangs airy. Adding white floral accents along the hood's edge offered a lovely contrast. The garment fabric utilized semi-translucent chiffon with a pearlescent sheen; the metallic drawstring buckles at the chest and waist were hand-assembled piece by piece. To align with the game's tailored light-techwear aesthetic, a breathable mesh under-corset was layered beneath. The metallic silver ribbons winding around the arms and legs served as the soul of this Game cosplay silhouette—looping them several times added a futuristic tech edge while accentuating bodily contours before the camera. The sheer Stockings were hand-lined with white geometric striping, echoing the overarching design while ensuring the legs didn't read too thin against high-gloss flooring.

For set staging, because the Black Shores setting is drenched in ocean waves, cosmic starry skies, and surreal beauty, we avoided flat backdrops and laid down abundant blue reflective material. Once illuminated, the high-gloss reflective floor film formed a shimmering, water-like surface; reclining on it captured stunning reflections merged with light and shadow. The backdrop was draped with white sheer ribbons, dangling bead strands, and assorted blue butterfly props. White Roman columns and grey rockeries were staggered asymmetrically and adorned with faux flowers, crafting a richly layered deep-sea sanctuary within a compact space.

During shooting, the gaffer deployed cool-toned key lighting from a high-side angle, balanced with floor-level bounce fill. While this setup demands flawless skin texture, the resulting clean, translucent porcelain skin tone perfectly suited the character. I moved through dozens of poses—sitting, reclining, kneeling, and crouching. Because the dress features a high slit and the floor was slippery, every pose required conscious core tension and pointed toes to lengthen leg lines, while gently holding butterflies or blossoms with relaxed fingers to avoid rigidity.

Clearing the latest story quest yesterday left me completely captivated once more. The Black Shores narrative and her bond with the Rover made emotional projection during the shoot entirely organic. That line—'Rover, welcome back to the Black Shores. When you leave next time, could you take me with you?'—was something I silently recited over and over, naturally softening my gaze and body language.

This Wuthering Waves cosplay series fulfilled a personal dream. From pattern drafting and prop crafting to collaborating with the photographer and retoucher on color grading, the journey was demanding yet deeply rewarding upon seeing the final frames. Preparations for Qingxiao are also in full swing, as I strive to infuse every character with my own heartfelt understanding. See you all at the next shoot!
