[Lucy cosplay] The Cyberpunk girl in Wuthering Waves, maxing out the Night City vibe

Putting on this gear of Lucy, I was instantly pulled into the cyberpunk world of the Wuthering Waves and Edgerunners collaboration. The techwear-style top in a black, white, and red color scheme paired with tight leather pants actually took quite a while to adjust in terms of lines and armor positioning during the shoot, but the final result was totally worth it. The wig featured light blue fading into pink highlights, paired with red eyeliner at the outer corners of the eyes, attempting to restore that cool yet slightly melancholic Night City temperament.

The venue for this shoot was chosen in a darkroom studio packed with neon tubes, a disco ball, and graffiti tires. The interwoven warm and cool lights of red, blue, and purple perfectly matched the neon-flashing street atmosphere in the game. To capture the refraction of light spots on the clothing material, I tried a combination of side-backlight and top-light to make the texture of the leather gloves and high boots stand out more.

The entire shooting process actually quite tested my expression management, because I had to simultaneously balance the coldness in my eyes and the relaxation of my limbs without looking stiff. Especially for the sitting posture composition, I needed to find a balance in the center of gravity while ensuring the bare shoulder lines looked natural. Post-processing slightly enhanced the background halo and smoke effect, but did its best to preserve the color saturation of the character itself, avoiding excessive color grading that might affect the original costume details. As a tribute to a classic collaboration character, being able to personally restore this look was a very special experience. I hope this set of photos can let everyone feel that unique mystery and vitality of the Night City streets, counting as a small presentation of the brave spirit of exploration in anime culture through this cosplay photography project.
