Today, I shot this Cinderella look from Nikke (Goddess of Victory: NIKKE), leaning into an aesthetic that is ethereal, dreamy, and serenely aloof. To capture Cinderella's signature crystal princess aura—simultaneously noble yet imbued with delicate fragility—we poured immense care into both the styling and set design.
Starting with the wig and headwear: to match the character's core features, I chose long, straight silver-white hair styled into Silver-haired twin tails (high twin ponytails). The positioning of the twin tails was adjusted multiple times to ensure voluminous body without feeling top-heavy. The silver metal tiara crown at the crown of the head serves as the visual focal point of the look; although it has noticeable heft, the edges are sculpted smoothly. The light-blue satin ribbon bows on either side cast a delicate iridescence under the studio lights, harmonizing effortlessly with the overarching cool color palette.
The costume is something I particularly want to highlight. This off-the-shoulder Light blue dress with delicate straps incorporates multi-layered sheer tulle and chiffon, where sweeping pleats and cascading undulating ruffles make the entire silhouette feel weightless. Tiny silver embellishments along the bodice, the choker-style neckpiece, and beaded wrist bracelets all introduce rich visual dimension. Because the dress is crafted from semi-sheer fabric, proper undergarments were vital; to keep the waist ribbon from appearing bulky, I deliberately cinched the waistline tightly during dressing.
For makeup, icy blue contact lenses served as the soul of the look; paired with cool-toned eyeshadow gradients, they lent the eyes an exceptionally crystalline, luminous clarity. The base makeup was kept as translucent and dewy as possible with minimal blush, complemented by soft rose-red lips to provide a natural flush without overwhelming the character's celestial, otherworldly elegance.
During shooting, I opted for a barefoot seated pose, legs delicately crossed and hands gently resting over my chest. Seemingly simple, this posture placed considerable demands on core stability—maintaining an upright torso while allowing the billowing skirt to cascade naturally onto the floor without crushing into unflattering creases. The studio lighting was exceptionally soft: the photographer utilized an expansive white seamless backdrop with diffused bounce light to accentuate the translucency of the chiffon and smooth skin textures. Because sheer fabrics easily blow out and lose textural weave under harsh glare, the fill light angles were fine-tuned extensively, ultimately yielding organic, velvety light-and-shadow transitions.
Regarding my interpretation of this version of Cinderella from Nikke, I feel she embodies a captivating contradiction: she carries the fragile grace of her fairy-tale archetype alongside the unwavering fortitude of a combat heroine in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE. In emotional delivery, I refrained from exaggerated expressions, relying instead on tranquil gazes and subtle, restrained body language to convey this disposition. For me, Cinderella cosplay is far more than donning a costume for photos; it is an immersive exploration into how a character exists in a specific moment. From initial pattern-making and wig sculpting to choreographing poses on set, every stage demands dedicated refinement. This set took roughly two weeks from inception to fruition, and seeing the graceful curves of the Light blue dress and the luminous gleam in her eyes in the final cuts makes all the groundwork feel richly rewarded.
