To recreate the languid, seductive allure of Blanc: White Rabbit from her Nikke setting, we chose a traditional Japanese washitsu room for this photoshoot. The costume is an altered black Japanese-style dress made of sturdy, structured fabric; the embroidered golden dragon motifs only stand out vividly under side lighting, so fine-tuning the angles with the photographer required meticulous care. The silver-white wig stood out brilliantly in the low-key environment, while the two black horn accessories on top emphasized her non-human traits. The makeup incorporated reddish-brown eye shadow to accentuate the golden contact lenses.
Set in a wooden Japanese room with a traditional screen depicting flowers and birds, the primary props were a crimson oil-paper umbrella and a black lace fan. The black fan added subtle textural layering against the black dress, while the red umbrella broke the visual monotony of the monochrome palette. We adopted a seated posture specifically to showcase the Black stockings and thigh ring combo—sitting on the tatami allowed my legs to extend forward, visually elongating leg lines. The sheen of the tight-fitting black fabric caught noticeable highlights, which were deliberately preserved in post-processing to enhance fabric texture.
Warm lantern glow washed over my face and hair edges, creating a gentle, luminous rim light across the frame. While themed around the New Year season, we avoided loud, garish traditional colors, relying instead on red-and-black contrast and cheongsam-inspired tailoring to weave an evocative mood.
Throughout the shoot, I continuously held the fan to partially veil my face, mimicking her effortless, composed expressions. To find the optimal angles, I stood up and sat down repeatedly, adjusting the skirt hemline so the fabric and thigh ring remained in perfect alignment while directing focus toward the gaze and waist detailing. The photographer did an exceptional job capturing depth of field and accentuating sleek leg lines.
The eye makeup deserved special attention: fine tightlining elongated the eyes, lashes were defined and separated, and light-toned lenses added a dreamy, hypnotic quality to her gaze. Securing the black horns onto the sides of the wig took significant effort to prevent shifting, and black ankle straps were meticulously placed for complete character fidelity.
In post-processing, balancing texture and chiaroscuro was key. Shadow details were preserved to ensure the Black stockings didn't crush into flat black, keeping the subtle sheer translucency of the skin—the very essence of understated allure. Golden threads on the fan and gold tassels at the waist were sharpened, while the red umbrella's saturation was slightly toned down to keep it striking without stealing focus from the subject.
This photoshoot deepened my appreciation for the character—especially her balance of formidable power and aloof detachment. This cosplay share captures a truly textured set of photos from Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, and I hope it brings everyone a refreshing visual experience.
