The character of Ruan Mei has always given me a feeling of elegance mixed with a hint of detached scientific research aura. To restore her calm and meditative temperament, I put a lot of thought into the makeup this time, especially in the treatment of the gaze, striving to reveal a touch of intellectual beauty amidst the coolness. To align with her transcendent and ethereal image, I also repeatedly considered the texture and color of the costume, ultimately choosing this blue and white color scheme filled with Chinese charm. This time, the location was chosen in an antique garden for this garden photography, coordinating with the Hanfu-style skirt hem, attempting to capture the poetic essence of "the sound of the Ruan falling upon gorgeous attire." Although shooting in an outdoor real-world setting faces various challenges such as rapid light changes and a complex environment, sometimes requiring repeated adjustments of positioning for a suitable angle, seeing the vegetation in the finished photos perfectly blend with this costume in front of the lens still brings a great sense of accomplishment. From the details of holding the fan surface to the swaying of the tassels on the hem, every polished point is to present the uniqueness of this character on a deeper level. Constantly thinking in front of the lens about the character's true state in that world—this creative process of searching for resonance with a fictional character within a real space—is precisely the core of what I love.
