[Kurumi Tsuchimikado cosplay] NARAKA: BLADEPOINT White Fox Shrine Maiden Studio Shoot

Today I'm sharing the studio photoshoot deliverables for Kurumi Tsuchimikado from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT. For this production, I chose the white fox Shrine maiden cosplay concept, dedicating extensive preparation to the styling and shoot. The plush white fox ears and bushy tail serve as the visual centerpieces of the entire ensemble; to capture her spirited, agile grace, I fine-tuned my pose choreography repeatedly.

The ivory dress is tailored from delicate lace and semi-translucent gossamer chiffon, with subtle jacquard embroidery detailing the sleeve cuffs and hemlines. The vivid red knotted cords and tassels at the chest and waist provide striking color accents, creating crisp contrast against the white cyclorama background. A braided gold obi belt cinches the waist to add dimensional layering. To complete the wardrobe, I paired gray fishnet gloves with white lace wrist cuffs, where the red wrist cords echo the garments for a unified design.

We staged the shoot in a studio featuring a shadowless pure white cyclorama wall, utilizing softboxes with camera settings calibrated to f/2.8, 1/125s, and ISO 100. This configuration is tailored for crisp, high-key photography, faithfully rendering skin tones and textile textures. While a white-on-white palette risks losing silhouette definition, targeted lighting angles and nuanced post-processing preserved sharp three-dimensional contours.

This series captures four distinct postures. The first is a side-perched pose on a pedestal glancing back over my shoulder, highlighting the drape of the tail and the contour of the back. The second features me hugging my knees atop the pedestal—a stance that accentuates the curves of the White stockings and legs, creating an alluring contrast of innocence and charm alongside the fox ears. The third pose extends both arms upward, testing core strength while showcasing the sweeping drape of the sleeves and overall garment silhouette. The fourth is a tight mid-shot focusing on facial makeup and neck accents.

Regarding the makeup, since the character is a white fox shrine maiden, I incorporated warm reddish-brown tones into the eye makeup paired with elongated lashes to give the eyes depth and vibrancy. For the lips, I selected a soft dusty rose to keep the balance understated. Honey-brown contact lenses complemented the white wig and fox ears, harmonizing the entire color scheme.

The session proceeded smoothly overall. Even within a controlled studio setting, nailing each gesture required numerous micro-adjustments. The tail demanded constant repositioning so its length wouldn't visually clutter the frame. I'm thrilled with the final deliverables—both the tactile garment textures and dynamic postures met my expectations. Kurumi's design in NARAKA: BLADEPOINT carries immense charm, and bringing this fox-eared shrine maiden aesthetic to life with White stockings was a deeply rewarding creative journey.
