This set of convention photos for Varesa can finally meet everyone from the expo.

This time, I specially chose a booth with relatively rich neon light and shadow for the shoot. The spotlight and suspended special effects on site merged very naturally with the character's own color scheme, giving the dynamic movements a better visual extension.

Regarding the clothing details, the biggest highlight this time is the black-and-white patchwork top plus the high-saturation color-blocked belt. The plush collar design looks very warm, but maintaining a crisp look during the on-site shoot was truly a challenge. The small brown bear ornament on the chest, paired with a red bow tie, beautifully neutralizes the combat aura of the overall outfit.

In this convention environment, lighting is often uncontrollable. There were a few very bright colored spotlights in front of the stage, bringing large areas of light spill and flare. During post-production, we didn't deliberately eliminate these halos; instead, we chose to retain them because this neon feel is precisely a realistic atmosphere that is hard to recreate in a studio shoot.

I chose the action with arms wide open for the cover image mainly because it can maximize the tension of the character being "ready for battle at any moment." To maintain the balance of this position, I repeatedly adjusted my center of gravity on site several times, and throughout the shooting process, I also needed to pay attention to the relaxation of my facial expression at all times. Additionally, the action of kneeling on one knee also required relying on core strength for support. By the time we shot later on, the knee pads near my knees were stained with quite a bit of dust, but this also made the photos look more realistic.

The stylized, humorous battle stance mentioned in previous posts also gave me some inspiration during this shoot. Therefore, when posing, I tried adding some exaggerated physical extensions, attempting to let the photos retain a playful breath while being full of impact. Not letting go of every small detail—I feel this is precisely where the charm of the cosplay hobby lies.

For the restoration of the hair color, the pink-blue gradient wig paired with the horn-shaped ornaments on top of the head appeared very transparent under the live lighting, which also became a visual memory point. As for the shoes, this asymmetrical design with knee pads is actually something that tests fashion taste. The white thick-soled shoes, combined with the heart-patterned thigh-high socks, make the lower body look both stable and carry a touch of cuteness.

Within the global cosplay photoshoot, we ultimately decided to retain this high-exposure, high-saturation processing style. Coordinated with those diamond and heart-shaped light spots in the background, it just happened to build up a strong video game feel. When shooting, the only thing in my mind was how to turn these character movements from anime into frozen moments in reality. Although the convention scene was crowded and chaotic, with passersby accidentally entering the frame frequently, the final effect still exceeded my expectations under the photographer's candid captures.

This shooting experience was extremely fulfilling. Completing this set of convention photos under complex lighting conditions was also a great exercise. I hope to share this visual state, full of vitality and ready to fight at any moment, with everyone.
