[Yu Linglong cosplay] NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Beijing ICOS Convention Photos

On August 16, at the Beijing ICOS Expo, I brought these convention photos of Yu Linglong from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT. Although the lighting at the convention venue isn't as refined as a professional studio, the bustling on-site atmosphere gives the convention photos a vivid vitality, offering a completely different experience from studio shoots.

A lot of energy went into the makeup and styling for this character. The silver-white wig was meticulously styled, with white plush balls on top paired with a golden skeleton hair accessory, maximizing the level of refinement. For the makeup, I specially chose purple-pink toned eyeshadow and eyeliner; this relatively cool-toned look beautifully echoes the color palette of the whole body. The purple gemstone forehead ornament is also highly recognizable, playing a key role in recreating the character's 2D visual traits.

For the costume, a large amount of lightweight, flowy white gauze fabric was selected. The off-the-shoulder and overlapping tailoring, combined with the layered short skirt hem, makes walking feel light and agile. The deep purple large flower at the waist and the metallic-colored decorative band wrapping around the waist region not only brighten the overall colors but also emphasize the waistline beautifully. The arms are covered with semi-transparent sheer cuffs, plus golden armlets, providing a rich sense of layering.

The texture of this teal-blue long sword prop is truly excellent. The patterns on the blade match beautifully with the sapphire inlaid on the silver-gray crossguard, and that long blue tassel hanging from it also looks amazing when swung. However, I have to admit that holding this sword for a long time makes my wrist quite sore. To prevent the tassel from tangling around the hilt, I had to constantly adjust my grip posture throughout the shoot for this cosplay photography.

I prepared two schemes for matching shoes this time. In the single-leg standing pose of Figure 1, I chose to go barefoot, paired with a pair of golden anklets; this shoe-free setting can create an ethereal, otherworldly cool temperament, though the supporting leg exerting force still requires strong core strength to control balance. In Figures 2 and 4, I changed into a pair of transparent platform thick-heeled sandals, featuring golden bands around the ankles and highly cute plush ball decorations, making walking more stable on the complex floor of the convention while also elongating the leg lines.

Finding a camera angle at a convention venue is truly a test of patience. Rows of square lights on the ceiling beat down overhead; although the light is rather harsh, after the lens blurs them out, it forms a background with a highly geometric feel. For that high-difficulty single-foot balance in Figure 1, I had to completely plant my center of gravity firmly while keeping the upper body as lightweight as possible to let the sheer skirt hem spread out naturally. The standing pose in Figure 4 with the sword resting on my shoulder was more relaxed, showcasing the character's calm and determined side.

The scene was truly a sea of people; we frequently had to wait for passersby to walk past or dodge other photographers who were clicking their shutters just to get a clean background. However, I am still highly satisfied with the final result cooperated with the photographer; the essence of convention photos lies precisely in capturing that authenticity and agility of the live scene.

This convention experience at Beijing ICOS was very joyful. Bringing a character I love offline and freezing those moments with photos is a highly fulfilling thing. I hope there will be opportunities in the future to continue polishing my makeup and styling, challenging characters of more diverse styles.
