This photoshoot recreated scenes from Yukei Yesterday in Kagerou Project, with me portraying Enomoto Takane cosplay and XINZi portraying Kokonose Haruka cosplay. Choosing this classroom setting was primarily driven by our wish to preserve Haruka and Takane within their fond high school memories. Prior to shooting, we spent considerable time discussing their personalities: Takane appears strong and tsundere on the surface but is genuinely sensitive, whereas Haruka carries an earnest yet oblivious slowness—this dynamic contrast is the most endearing element of their interaction. My beige cardigan and plaid skirt, XINZi's green cardigan and white shirt, along with sketchbooks and pencils as props, allowed the scene recreation to achieve a very high level of completion. The cheek-pinching scene was especially prone to outtakes from laughter; to convey that blend of mock annoyance and fond indulgence, we practiced in front of the mirror quite a few times. Lighting was another focal point of this shoot, where we deliberately waited for the sun to cast slanted light beams into the classroom to simulate an after-school afternoon ambiance. The chalk drawings on the blackboard and the pages of the sketchbook were specially drawn with matching character sketches, while both of us had to pretend not to notice them at all during shooting. The shot featuring a hug from behind felt remarkably immersive; though neither of our faces was shown, the body language expressed the deep reliance between the characters. For the final photo of gently touching hair, we intentionally kept the lighting dimmer to evoke the tender atmosphere transitioning from afternoon to dusk. In overall post-processing, we avoided heavy modifications, keeping the slightly sepia, warm texture of the classroom intact in hopes of preserving that sweet, pure love for this cosplay.
