[Keqing Cosplay] Genshin Impact: Sword Shadows and Flowing Robes Under Purple Light

The venue selected for this indoor studio photography shoot features Chinese carved wooden grilles paired with purple-blue ambient lighting, perfectly matching this blue-and-purple color scheme outfit. Regarding the costume fabric, the white silk of the top and sleeves was given a matte finish to avoid harsh glare under strong lights, while the sheer tulle sleeves ensure flexibility for poses. The wig is a custom light purple-grey piece that took considerable time to comb and style before the shoot; attaching the headpiece was also tricky, as the metal hair ornaments had to be firmly clamped into the braids, allowing no sudden movements. To complement the cool-toned light sources, cool grey-toned eyeshadow and sharp eyeliner were chosen for the makeup to make the gaze appear brighter and more focused, while lip color was kept understated to avoid stealing the show. The prop long sword is solidly crafted; its vibrant blue and gold patterns created a unique gradient effect under the indoor purple studio lights. During shooting, we repeatedly adjusted lighting angles so the pink gem on the hilt would refract light spots into the lens. The single-leg lift pose in Photo 1 tested balance significantly; holding the sword horizontally with both hands required keeping the shoulder line firm and straight to look crisp. We tried many times back and forth to capture the most stable moment. The half-kneeling pose in Photo 2 required intentionally lowering my center of gravity while slightly tilting my head up so the light would illuminate my jawline; keeping my gaze steady in this position was quite challenging and demanded strict expression control. The standing pose in Photo 3 looks ordinary, but resting the sword vertically on the ground while keeping the upper body upright yet relaxed required precise core and arm control. The seated pose in Photo 4 was relatively more comfortable; holding the sword allowed my hands to rest more softly, making the overall demeanor gentler. The black tights outfit achieved just the right sheerness under studio lights, which, paired with black chunky-heeled short boots, gave a visually rich texture. It was quite cold in the studio on the day of the shoot, but to maintain a sharp look and sleek movements, I had to persevere in light clothing. The whole process lasted about four hours. During this time, I communicated back and forth with the photographer regarding various high and low camera angles and compositions—including low-angle shots to elongate the silhouette and high-angle shots to capture environmental depth. Ultimately, these four final photos each presented distinct perspective features, balancing the subject with background integration. In fact, I really liked the shadows cast behind me by the hollowed-out wood grain under purple light, which added extra layers to the composition. The main post-processing work involved fine-tuning color balance to make skin tones look more translucent under purple light, while preserving original textures of clothing and skin without over-flattening. Wearing this outfit is quite troublesome, especially layering accessories and sleeves, which must be arranged to one's complete satisfaction before shooting. Before the shoot, I practiced several key poses in front of the mirror multiple times, especially eye focus, to avoid looking unfocused in the final shots. These four final photos each offer different dynamic states—from the sharpness of swinging a sword to the quiet beauty of stillness—perfectly showcasing the diverse styles this outfit and prop combination can present in this Cosplay sharing.
