For this photoshoot, I chose a rocky stream and a pure blue sky as the two main backgrounds, which perfectly match Columbina's mysterious and ethereal tone.
Regarding the styling, this outfit features an off-the-shoulder design with white fabric pieced with light blue piping, which heavily tests the neck and shoulder lines. To maintain a sense of fluid motion, relatively lightweight and breathable fabrics were chosen, allowing the wide sleeves and hem to flutter more naturally in the breeze. For the hairstyle, I specifically did long straight black hair with a magenta gradient highlight at the ends. Paired with the white hair accessory on the left side, it becomes the visual focus of the whole look. Instead of heavily accentuating the eyeshadow or highlighter, the makeup was kept soft and natural. Together with a quiet, downward-glancing expression, it brings out a calm and inviolable sense of purity.
Photos 1 and 2 were taken by a mountain stream. The current was very swift, and standing on rocks covered in moss and wet water was actually extremely slippery, so I had to constantly mind my footing for safety. To suit this scene, the shoot was intentionally timed for when the sunlight filtered through the canopy and reflected just right off the water's surface. The strong rim lighting highlights the edges of the clothes while making the magenta gradient at the ends of the hair look more vibrant. In those two photos, the white silk stockings create a stark texture contrast against the rugged rocks by the water, adding a wealth of depth to the overall composition. Photo 3 offers a completely different perspective, utilizing the pure blue sky as a backdrop. Under intense backlighting, every strand of hair and outline of the character is lit up by the light, forming a gorgeous silhouette rim light. The frame is so clean that there is almost no clutter, magnifying the ethereal aspect of the 'maiden' element as much as possible.
The most critical part of cosplay hair, makeup, and props is the completeness and unity of the atmosphere. It was still very cold by the water on the day of the shoot, and with the off-the-shoulder design, I had to quickly throw on a coat after completing each set of poses. To achieve that natural, flowing effect, everyone was jumping up and down among the mountain rocks to capture the dynamic movements. Seeing the final results, all that hard work turned into a great sense of accomplishment. This set of photos strives to recreate the character's beauty—distant from the hustle and bustle, transparent yet carrying a hint of sorrow. I feel that in a complex natural environment, even though the details of the props and costume aren't massive, the fusion of light, flowing water, and the pure background actually showcases the unique texture of this character much better. I hope everyone can feel the tranquil, cool vibe I wanted to convey this time.
