Expansive patchwork of beige and white paired with a deep-blue inner lining offers rich visual layering without appearing cluttered. The most eye-catching aspects are undoubtedly the white geometric patterns and red lines across the shoulders and sleeves, along with that striking red square seal stamp print on the left chest—costume elements that resonate impeccably with the character's background in Arknights.
For the on-set arrangement during the shoot, I deliberately emphasized a traditional scholar's study atmosphere. The brush rest, hanging calligraphy brushes, calligraphy scrolls spread across the desktop, and the neatly placed yellow square seals by my hand all served the character's core demeanor. The curved deep-blue prop held in hand featured a refined matte texture, adorned with writing slips inscribed with black characters on a white ground; it carried noticeable physical heft, requiring my holding posture to project natural composure and steadfast serenity.
To harmonize with the overall color palette of the frame, significant care went into crafting the horn headpieces. The white base of the horns transitioning into pale orange-green tips appeared wonderfully lustrous and soft under studio lighting rather than overly sharp. Phrases like "Until the earth turns into a sour lime" and "May your heart be as steadfast as mine" carry an emotion slightly melancholic yet unshakeably resolute, which finds an organic resonance amidst the quiet ink fragrance of the frame. During shooting, I consciously avoided grand, dynamic gestures, choosing instead to sit quietly before the low desk, channeling restrained emotions through subtle eye contact. A thick calligraphy scroll, a few brushes, and the ambiance of a quiet cup of tea—this represents the exact tranquility I wanted to present in this Traditional Chinese style cosplay.
As both a photographer and cosplayer, I have always believed that quality cosplay extends beyond putting on clothes to prioritizing the seamless blend of temperament and scene ambiance. The garment fabric utilized faux cotton-linen; while it delivers exceptional drape, its tendency to wrinkle easily required repeated smoothing on-set to maintain pristine neatness. The voluminous sleeve design reduced arm mobility, meaning when lifting the deep-blue prop, I had to invest effort into finding arm angles that displayed the garment's lines most gracefully. Tedious though the process was, seeing the final outcome—warm light caressing the facial profile, with calligraphy elements and antique wooden furniture echoing one another—fully realized the captivating aesthetic fusion of classical Chinese elegance and ACG fantasy. For lighting, I maintained a gentle approach; balanced front and side fill lights sculpted facial dimensions while preserving ample shadow details on the deep-blue props and dark fabrics.
The journey of genuinely interpreting this character was a thoroughly rewarding experience for me.
