[Shirasu Azusa cosplay] Deconstructing Blue Archive Swimsuit — A Relaxed Holiday Under the Sunshine - Image 1

Shooting this Blue Archive Shirasu Azusa cosplay Summer Film had actually been in the works for quite some time. When I first saw the design drafts for this style, I was deeply drawn to that crisp, vibrant summer vibe, so I decided on a tropical outdoor pool setting for the location. The overall creative direction was to use authentic natural light to enhance the refreshing and relaxed essence of the character.

The core of the makeup and styling lay in recreating the details. The vibrant floral buds and ribbon ornaments on top of the head are very striking; macaron shades of pink, blue, and yellow intertwine, echoing the colorfulness of summer without feeling cluttered. The white wig needed to be styled with fluffy, layered volume so it would emit a soft translucency under the sunlight. For the top, I chose a semi-sheer white cover-up layered over a pink horizontally striped bandeau top; this layering captured the character's casual everyday feel while providing rich visual depth. The lower half features a girlish pink pleated mini skirt accented with black bows, and the patchwork white sheer tulle drapes dynamically in the breeze. The multicolored beaded necklace around the neck, especially the yellow teardrop pendant at the end, serves as an eye-catching focal point amidst the white styling, instantly elevating the overall playfulness.

For the setting, we deliberately selected a time of day with strong light and shadow contrast. The pool water shimmered with an azure brilliance, and the white loungers and large beige parasol in the background formed a clean, well-designed backdrop, which, combined with the lush tropical foliage around, wrapped the frame in a natural filter. My positioning was arranged on a white lounge chair, settling into a relaxed cross-legged seated posture with hands resting gently along the hem of my clothes, gazing forward calmly to capture the character's serene, innocent, and carefree temperament. The black criss-cross wedge sandals were also a carefully selected accessory, visually grounding the pink-and-white palette and enhancing the resort vibe. Beside me was a round white plush toy; its chubby shape was super cute and served as a great prop for interaction in this pool cosplay.

This shoot was a real test of handling harsh direct lighting; under the blazing outdoor sun, blown-out highlights were the biggest threat. Huge thanks to Miyako photography for precisely capturing these subtle light-and-shadow nuances, skillfully utilizing parasols and architectural shadows to create soft, diffused light across my face and body. This preserved every fine detail of the clothing and hair while allowing the pool's water reflections to cast onto the white sheer fabric, creating a breathable, translucent glow.

Although the temperature was high and sweat was constantly flowing during the shoot, seeing the final photos—with sunlight spilling over the azure water and a gentle breeze blowing, freezing this uniquely cool and radiant summer vibe in time—made all the effort worthwhile. This set leaned toward integrating the character with the everyday ambiance of the natural environment, presenting an easygoing, effortless state. I hope everyone can feel that unique poolside comfort and breeze through these photos.
