This concert look for Jinhsi was specially prepared for this convention shoot. The blue and white color scheme of the outfit is exceptionally refreshing, while the multi-layered pleats on the hemline and golden metal accessories add great texture, complemented by black and pink accents that enrich the finer details. Pairing the white over-the-knee boots with the reflective gray concrete floor created an atmosphere that felt visually seamless. In terms of styling, the silver-white wig with a blue gradient is very long and took quite a bit of effort to style, while the red eye makeup stood out vividly against the cool ambient lighting.
For this shoot, we extensively utilized low-angle shots and wide-angle lenses. The perspective not only elongated the visual proportions of the legs but also granted the character an imposing, stage-worthy presence. The location chosen was a spacious, industrial-style exhibition hall, where overhead lighting formed wonderful contrast between light and shadow. The photographer, Youying, possesses strong skills in capturing dynamic moments—especially the fleeting seconds when the skirt flutters, presenting truly outstanding visual tension.
Regarding posing, since I held a customized microphone, the movements were designed around this prop. For instance, holding the mic with both hands against the chest with the body leaning slightly forward, or kicking one leg back dramatically while raising the mic high so that the hair and long skirt could flow naturally in the air. While these poses look highly dynamic, they actually require remarkable balance; doing single-leg balance poses in high heels is quite a test of core strength. The reflective floor of the venue provided great potential for cool-toned post-processing, and the subtle reflections visible on the ground added depth to the frames.
As on-site concert photos of an idol, movement choreography must be cohesive and varied to appear lively and organic. This session provided valuable experience—such as pairing a flowing hemline with tall boots to accentuate leg lines, and taking advantage of open spaces to enhance depth of field, both of which are key to achieving high-yield shots. Although shooting was demanding, seeing the final results made all the preparation worthwhile. To stay true to the character's serene and aloof disposition, the background lighting clutter was intentionally reduced in post-processing so that the subject stands out prominently. Every shoot is a journey of exploring character expression, and I hope the gaze and gestures captured here convey the confident, charming aura of a little idol under the spotlight.
