This red maple theme costume took over a month of preparation from design sketches to actual completion, with the main outfit choosing the classic combination of white, red, and black. It possesses both the elegance of traditional Japanese style clothing and the lightness of modern design, with tailoring lines fitting the body as closely as possible to ensure smooth visual feedback during presentation.

Regarding accessories, I am quite satisfied with the detailed handling of the headwear and neckwear; the metallic luster contrasts with the fabric texture, presenting a wonderful sense of layering under warm light during the shoot. Many people asked if it would be cold to wear this. Actually, I used heat packs on the day of the shoot; after all, doing cosplay requires balancing the photo results with personal comfort. Balancing temperature and style is a mandatory course.

For the scene selection, I specially chose a real-world setting that blends Chinese classical style with Japanese elements. With the red maple theme as the backdrop tone, paired with traditional wooden doors and windows, along with a white fur rug and woven straw cushions, it nicely softens any abruptness brought by the bright clothing, making the overall frame look more harmonious. I usually pay close attention to the coordination of light and composition during shoots, because great light and shadow can truly elevate the overall quality of a cosplay work, making the character's personality and tension more prominent.

The workload for early preparation is always substantial, from wig trimming to costume fit, and then to the fine-tuning of props. Only when every step is executed properly will the final photos avoid giving the audience a disjointed feeling. The wig color chosen was a white with a touch of pink, which looks very breathable under the lights while echoing the surrounding red maples, adding to the overall unity of the image.

The styling design on the chest of the costume was also tested multiple times to ensure it won't lose its shape during movement while maintaining visual fullness. The translucent tulle patchwork on the back worked unexpectedly well during backlit shooting, faintly revealing the skin color and adding a touch of hazy aesthetic beauty. For the sitting pose, I tried a slight sideways leaning movement, which maximizes the display of the clothing's tailoring details and the three-dimensional feel of the overall look.

The original intention of doing this cosplay was to participate in the upcoming Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo independent anime convention tour project. On one hand, it's to experience the warm atmosphere of the convention venue and exchange creative insights with fellow fans; on the other hand, I hope to capture more dynamic frames on-site. If the lighting on-site allows, I also want to try capturing some transparent and natural light effects to give the character's visual expressiveness more fullness.

In short, from the initial idea to the final realization, a lot of effort went into this work, but the sense of reward from the final image presentation is highly satisfying. I hope this passion for cosplay will continue to drive me to create more and better works.
