[Chisa cosplay] The Cool Summer Sensation of Wuthering Waves Swimsuit

This shoot features the swimsuit look of Chisa from Wuthering Waves, taking about two weeks from preparation to the final photos. To enhance the on-camera effect, I chose a wig with a high crown, extra-long straight hair, and straight bangs, which flatters the face shape well and recreates that unique, youthful 2D charm. The makeup focused heavily on the eyes: the large-diameter red contact lenses are the soul of the look, complemented by clean eyeliner, red lower eyeshadow, and thick lashes to capture that slightly dreamy gaze. The blush was applied generously and positioned fairly high on the cheeks, effectively shortening the midface during overhead shots. For the lipstick, I selected a glossy shade that catches the light nicely with parted lips.

The outfit is a pink-and-white checkered swimsuit decorated with ruffles and crisscross straps. Wearing this type of piece requires careful adjustment of the shoulder straps and the chest pad positioning; otherwise, it can easily look unnatural under strong lighting. The white straps across the neckline feature a crisscross design adorned with tiny pink petals, which prevents exposure while enriching the garment's details. The headwear is a white nurse-cap style headband accented with pink ribbons and small white flowers on the side, matching the overall pink-and-white color scheme of the outfit.

A wide-angle lens was used for the session; taking close-ups from an overhead angle makes the subject look more petite while flattering body proportions. Because we shot indoors against a plain white wall, the lighting was mostly soft, with a side fill light set up to soften the nasolabial shadows and make the skin look more translucent. A pure white background really puts the cleanliness of the makeup to the test, so setting the base took plenty of time, and liquid highlighter was applied across the chest, collarbones, and shoulders to add texture.

Several dozen shots were taken across the session. Post-processing mainly preserved the crisp details of the red irises, slightly enhanced the cool fair skin tone, and restricted the palette to pink, white, and subtle touches of red. To maintain the overall 2D texture, I avoided overly realistic skin smoothing, retaining some of the natural facial tension and nuance. The shoot went very smoothly; although the straps shifted out of place occasionally during posing, fixing them promptly kept everything on track.
