Shooting this Hozuki's Coolheadedness Goldfish Plant Cosplay set in its Anthropomorphism form stemmed from my long-standing love for the series' eccentric humor. Though originally a noisy plant in the source material, its humanized styling carries a unique, compelling charm in 2D culture.

The wig features a red-and-white gradient, with the small white plush hairpiece on top serving as a crucial focal point that highlights the adorable, goofy charm of the overall look. When trimming the bangs and sideburns, I intentionally preserved natural wisps to emulate an unkempt yet character-defining effortless vibe. To prevent hair strands from looking overly stiff during styling, I lightly pinched the hair ends with hairspray to achieve a seamless blend across the red and white transition.

For the costume, I chose a white base with a red collar. The red fish-scale pattern along the lower hem is the primary visual highlight; to achieve a flowing effect, a drape-heavy fabric was selected. The red obi-belt and cuff accents brighten the composition nicely. Open-toed sandals were paired to enhance character authenticity. For base makeup, a matte finish was chosen to emphasize clean skin texture, contrasting cleanly with the purity of the white outfit. Eye makeup was kept minimal, focusing on outlining soft eyelines to add depth to the gaze.

For the location, I chose a lushly vegetated garden. The backgrounds of the opening photos feature massive banyan trees and moss-covered stones. Selecting a natural setting aligns with the character's core nature as a plant incarnation, creating better harmony amidst dense foliage. Lighting relied on natural diffuse light from an overcast sky, avoiding harsh shadows and enveloping all character contours in soft light.

During the shoot, I primarily focused on capturing static moments. Instead of arranging dynamic movements, I simply sat quietly on the grass or rested my chin on my hand, gazing off into space. I personally believe this character's charm lies in a detached, tranquil dullness—a slightly vacant gaze paired with loose clothing delivers a quiet, scenic atmosphere. Regarding overall proportions, considering loose garments can easily make one appear shorter, the photographer deliberately adopted a slightly lower camera angle. This elongated body proportions while incorporating the tall background flora, creating a striking contrast between the small individual and vast nature.

The shooting process was quite swift; most energy was spent scouting backdrops and adjusting the spatial scale between my body and the rock formations. To preserve the natural atmosphere, post-processing avoided excessive special effects, applying only foundational color adjustments to unify the muted green tone of the overall frame. As for shoot details, there were minor hitches on the day—such as dew on the grass dampening my outfit during long sits. Yet this exact environment helped me immerse deeper into character, feeling as though I truly grew out from humid plant clusters.

This outfit was exceedingly comfortable to wear, with loose tailoring allowing complete freedom of movement. Though an obscure Anthropomorphism choice, I aimed to recreate its unique ambient feel. Sharing this shoot log is my way of expressing love for this character design. Intertwined sunlight and tree shadows created a fleeting moment that became my most comforting memory from this shoot—a truly fulfilling Cosplay experience.
