The tactile texture of the Letter from the Deep Sea outfit in the final shots turned out even better than I had anticipated. The alternating deep-blue and pure-white textiles produced distinct reflective sheens under the setting sun; in particular, the outer gauzy skirt hem caught the ocean breeze to refract a stunning, delicate shimmer, creating a vivid warm-cool contrast against the orange-violet dusk in the background. The wig was intentionally styled with voluminous fullness, paired with a massive black lace wide-brimmed hat that framed and softened facial contours beautifully.

This shoot took place along the shore with an extremely tight schedule, racing against the fleeting dozens of minutes as sunset transitioned into twilight. Early on while ambient light remained, I held the cane and stood across the shallows, the wind sweeping the skirt billowing to one side to naturally evoke a light, dynamic momentum. Once dusk gave way to complete darkness and our surroundings turned into a deep sapphire blue, I switched to the handheld lantern as the primary prop. The warm amber glow of the lantern illuminated the diamond gemstones and lace embroidery on the bodice, and against the dimmed surroundings, the subject immediately stood out within the frame. To complement this mysterious yet calm, cool atmosphere, I tried a one-legged leaping pose, which not only showcased the tall boots and leg lines, but also injected lively grace into the shot.

From a styling perspective, the eye makeup incorporated a subtle blend of reddish and blue tones, paired with light-colored contacts to evoke a doll-like porcelain refinement under low night lighting. The dark hues of the tall boots and gloves anchored the look's visual center of gravity, preventing the flowing white skirt from appearing untethered. Shooting by the sea presents numerous unpredictable variables: fierce sea winds easily mess up the wig, and humidity dampens hairstyle volume, demanding immediate touch-ups after each take. When framing close-ups, I adjusted my angles several times so the lantern light fell directly across my face while keeping a bright catchlight in my eyes.

The evocative atmosphere of this photo set owed much to the harmony between the location and lighting. Whether it was the faint gleam mirrored upon the water or the innate metallic luster of the outfit, both lent Genshin Impact's Hydro element and dramatic flair a more dimensional presentation. Documenting these frames from a first-person perspective aimed to recapture the serene headspace of pacing the beach with a lantern in hand amidst the sea breeze. The entire process felt like fulfilling a cross-dimensional (2D) emotional expression, materializing my understanding of fabric textures, color harmonies, and ambient light step by step through the lens.
