The process of shooting these Arknights Tragodia cosplay Convention photos was essentially a journey of solving numerous practical challenges. Let's start with putting on the outfit: this costume consists of multiple layers. The white ruffled collar is quite stiff and requires manually adjusting the position of the pleats, topped with a deep blue corset featuring neat golden vertical stripes that truly accentuate the figure when tightened. The metal brooch and draped chains across the chest carry considerable weight, secured with hidden snaps inside, and during the shoot, extra care was needed to keep them from tangling with the black choker necklace. The staff in hand is a long pole adorned with intricate golden spiral patterns at the head, though holding it for extended periods made my palms sweat easily. The two accompanying black cat props had to be fixed onto shoulder-mounted brackets to achieve the floating-in-the-air effect, requiring extreme caution while walking so they wouldn't fall off.

For makeup and hair styling, the hair color is silver-gray, with the wig's bangs trimmed so as not to obstruct vision completely. The eyeshadow was selected in a warmer orange-red tone to create a sharp color contrast against the deep blue attire. After lining the lips, to match the character's aloof and cool aura, facial expression was conveyed primarily through the eyes, keeping the lips mostly flat or with just a slight subtle curve.

The photoshoot took place directly at the convention venue (such as CPSP). The venue's overhead lighting was the primary interfering light source, where tilting my head directly down would cast heavy shadows. Therefore, when raising the staff, I deliberately adjusted my upper body posture to turn my profile toward the light source, using the highlights to outline the jawline. The photographer was constantly looking for clean backgrounds, but with heavy foot traffic, passersby inevitably stepped into the frame. The challenge of Convention photos lies in candid timing; due to loud ambient noise, the photographer and I needed to agree on movement cues in advance. Holding props for extended periods left my arms and shoulders aching, so the photographer and I agreed to take breaks every dozen shots to shake out our arms, grab water, and reset our rhythm.

The most critical aspect of this outfit was posture while walking. Because the cuffs and trailing ribbons on the back are very long, walking too fast causes the fabric to tangle, so pacing had to be slowed down intentionally. The camera lens often captured this deliberately decelerated, windblown rhythm. Truthfully, before this shoot, I was uncertain about how well the costume's layered structure would translate, but once fully geared and standing before the lens, the cat props on both sides and flowing ribbons extended the silhouette beautifully, creating a striking three-dimensional visual effect. Although the accessories were plentiful and wearing them was cumbersome, the resulting visual impact far surpassed that of a standard dress.

In post-processing, the main focus was preserving the original deep color tones and slightly darkening the background to make the subject stand out. Regarding the character's gaze and temperament, I mentally visualized her personality during poses, using hand and eye gestures—such as slightly tilting the head or holding an intense gaze into the camera—to project a sense of mystery and unyielding resolve. Being my first time attempting a look with extensive rigid metal accessories and long trailing ribbons, I stumbled through a few trial-and-error poses; for example, holding the staff too low looked tired, while holding it too high disrupted the aura. Guided continuously by the photographer, we found several comfortable, natural angles to capture these satisfying shots in Cosplay photography.

Overall, shooting these convention Convention photos allowed me to experience the pros and cons of prop-heavy costumes firsthand. The weight was certainly a challenge, yet that very heft endowed the look with rich substance. I did my best to seize this opportunity, using authentic live lighting to document the truest essence of this styling—a truly special experience.
