I used the Sony A7R6 paired with the 28-70mm F2 GM lens; a large aperture is truly practical in indoor environments like a classroom. A classroom is a natural photo studio, and the natural light filtering through the windows is the best light source. We specifically chose to shoot in the afternoon when the sunlight was slanting, letting the light strike from the side or as a backlight. Under this kind of lighting, not only can it form a beautiful rim light on the edge of the hair—commonly known as hair light—but it also makes the skin texture look exceptionally translucent. Combined with an F2.0 or even larger aperture, the desks and blackboard in the background are blurred just right, keeping the visual focus entirely on the subject.

Regarding the outfit, this time we chose a classic JK uniform pairing. A black suit jacket layered over a light gray knitted cardigan and a white shirt, tied with a pink bow at the neckline. The lower body consists of a pink-and-black plaid pleated skirt paired with Black stockings and loafers. The pink-and-black color scheme is not too dull and stands out remarkably well against the green background of the blackboard. The absolute territory between the Black stockings and the skirt hem is a very important visual point in JK photography. The photographer had me sit on a desk or windowsill, utilizing crossed-leg postures to visually elongate the leg lines while adding a hint of youthful, lazy charm.

In terms of props, we prepared a comic book, a brown leather student backpack, and even purposely drew stick figures on the blackboard. Holding the comic book while leaning by the window, or lying on the desk pretending to take a lunch break—these actions give the photos a stronger sense of storytelling rather than rigid, dry posing. In expression management, when looking straight into the camera, the gaze can carry a bit of innocence, or gently touch the lips like in the photos; these small actions make the frame more vivid. If a breeze blows through the curtains, the captured snapshot is usually the most vivid and natural.

When shooting campus-style photography, I feel the most important thing is relaxation. Don't try too hard to strike those high-difficulty poses; just imagine yourself truly on a recess break. You can utilize desks, chairs, and the blackboard around you as fulcrums to naturally stretch your body—for instance, propping one hand on the window frame or sitting on a desk flipping through a book. Often, inadvertent moments are the most infectious. I personally love this set of photos very much; both the light-and-shadow and atmospheric vibe met expectations, and they wonderfully showcase the youthful aura of JK uniforms. In addition, interaction with the lens is also crucial; you can try not looking at the camera, looking out at the scenery outside the window, or lowering your head to focus on the book in your hands, which will give the captured photos a greater sense of extension and everyday feel. This photo set mainly aims to convey a relaxed and comfortable campus atmosphere.
