Today's photoshoot was set in a beautifully lit classroom. The outfit adopted classic JK uniform styling; although not portraying a specific anime character, the overall ensemble carries a rich Anime-style fashion vibe. I chose a black blazer jacket tailored with a relaxed straight cut rather than a tight silhouette, allowing wide movements without feeling restricted. Golden metallic buttons along the cuffs and placket, alongside a white shield-shaped embroidered crest on the left chest, serve as classic uniform staples that immediately signal a 2D anime school setting. Underneath, I wore a basic white collared shirt accented by an oversized red bow tie featuring white fluffy trims on both sides—an eye-catching highlight that enlivens the solid black blazer while adding visual layering.
For the lower half, I wore a charcoal-grey pinstriped pleated skirt hitting just above the knee, effectively elongating leg proportions. The pleats are sharp and crisp, fanning out naturally with movement without falling flat. To complete the look, I put on semi-sheer black pantyhose paired with glossy black platform loafers featuring metal buckles. The pairing of Black stockings and loafers beautifully flatters the leg contours, while the chunky heel provides steady balance and an upright, elegant posture.
As for hair, I tied twin ponytails with blunt bangs to emphasize youthful school charm, with soft brown hair catching the warm classroom light gently. The makeup accentuated blush and eye definition over a matte velvet base, using pink-toned shadows to harmonize with the red bow tie for an overall sweet aesthetic.
During the shoot, the photographer masterfully utilized natural classroom light. Sunlight angled through the windows, casting clear diagonal bands of light and shadow across the wooden desks and floor. I rotated through diverse poses: sitting on a chair with crossed legs and hands resting naturally over my knees, or perching on the desk edge with one foot resting on the chair—flattering the lines of the Black stockings without feeling forced. Resting my chin on my hand looking toward the lens or casually brushing back my hair also yielded striking shots. Using foreground desks and chairs for subtle bokeh added spatial depth. To visually lengthen the legs while seated, keeping the spine straight and angling the skirt and posture worked wonders.
The entire shoot progressed effortlessly without elaborate props; the blackboard, globe, desks, and chairs were more than enough to establish the scene. Walking around the classroom in this uniform truly felt like stepping back into student days. Shooting this kind of Campus style portraiture relies above all on a relaxed mindset and authentic eye contact, which—paired with evocative light and shadow—naturally weaves a compelling story into every frame.
