[Yixuan cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Office Lady style: A moment of growth without relying on Master - Image 1

I have constantly been reflecting on whether no longer relying on one's master truly counts as growing up. Thus, in this Zenless Zone Zero Yixuan cosplay photoshoot, I attempted to peel away her original ethereal, immortal-like aesthetic, placing Yixuan into a parallel universe of modern corporate life to answer this question through a more everyday visual language. If stripped of familiar sanctuary and dressed in sharp business wear, could she truly stand on her own two feet?

Conceptualizing this ensemble took quite some thought. For the upper body, I chose a light grayish-white fine-striped long-sleeve shirt with cuffs rolled up slightly, channeling a crisp readiness to dive straight into work. For the lower half, I paired it with high-waisted black form-fitting suspender shorts, which not only hugged the waistline closely but also accentuated leg proportions. The absolute centerpiece of the coordination was this high-gloss pair of Black stockings, along with black open-toe stiletto heeled sandals worn over Split-toe socks—a styling choice that retained the intricate delicacy of an anime character while infusing the mature sophistication of a modern career woman. The corporate ID badge around my neck and the blue document folder held in my hands served as vital props anchoring this contemporary workplace setting.

To showcase the textures of these garments—particularly the lustrous, reflective sheen of the black stockings—we opted for a seamless pure white backdrop for the shoot. This brand of studio lighting demands intense precision: if the light is too harsh, the stockings appear artificial; if too soft, leg contours and the structural depth of the garments fail to pop. Consequently, in our lighting design, we deliberately added rim lights from the rear flanks, allowing the leg curves to emerge sculpturally and naturally against the stark white background.

In terms of posing, I avoided overly dramatic or exaggerated gestures, opting for a simple profile stance, looking back gently toward the lens while holding the folder naturally with both hands. This restrained posture resonated far more authentically with the everyday demeanor of a professional—never deliberately pandering to overt sensuality, but conveying an aura of independent composure through organic body language.

Because Yixuan's canon background leans toward tradition and cultivation fantasy, venturing into a modern Office Lady style was undeniably an adventurous, bold OOC (Out Of Character) endeavor. Yet I believe a character's true fascination lies in her potential to embody diverse possibilities across different parallel timelines. Stepping out from the shelter of one's master, donning high heels to stride into the professional world, and confronting mundane worldly challenges is itself a compelling testament to coming of age. I hope this cross-genre experiment allows everyone to witness a distinct facet of Yixuan, and I warmly welcome thoughtful discussions on your own interpretations of her personal growth.
