The theme of this photoshoot is quite straightforward: capturing the slightly relaxed yet consistently professional state of Hayase Yuuka during office breaks in Blue Archive. To faithfully recreate her crisp and neat demeanor, I opted for a translucent, clean base makeup paired with light blue contacts to accentuate the clarity of her gaze, while tightening the lines around the eye makeup so the overall look retains a student's clean freshness without losing Yuuka's sharpness as the accounting lead.
Securing the floating halo above my head took considerable effort during the shoot; it was supported by a thin metal wire frame, paired with tightly tied blue twin-tails and carefully trimmed bangs, striving to look as natural as possible on camera. The blue wig emitted a delicate sheen under the bright studio lights, harmonizing surprisingly well with her overall cool-toned palette.
The complete costume is the core highlight of this photoshoot. The white coat is accented with blue paneling, and the color coordination of the tie and shirt was meticulously considered to ensure distinct layers of white, blue, and black. The ID badge worn at the waist is a crucial detail that elevates the character accuracy—as one of Yuuka's signature accessories, it gives this daily outfit a genuine "office" feel. For the lower half, I chose black shorts and chunky ankle boots cut right above the ankle, which flatters leg proportions and elongates the leg line when seated, balancing the lightness of an anime cosplay character with the solid presence of platform boots.
For the shooting environment, I chose a minimalist office backdrop—a black mesh chair, a simple whiteboard, and a desk—to avoid overpowering the character while instantly immersing viewers into her everyday work setting. When attempting the pose chosen as the cover in photo two, I sat on the chair with my legs naturally extended forward and rested my chin lightly in my hand. This seemingly casual yet slightly "inquisitive" angle perfectly reflects Yuuka's unique trait of "looking totally dependable even when spacing out."
To achieve a clear, translucent visual texture, the lighting on set simulated side-backlight streaming through a window, casting an interplay of light and shadow across my face and the whiteboard. Quick doodles drawn casually on the background whiteboard added a charming touch of life to the somewhat austere office atmosphere. This contrast is precisely what makes Yuuka so endearing: as a student often in charge of budgeting and calculations, against such a serious backdrop, she occasionally reveals a slightly clumsy or dorky side. Capturing this multifaceted personality through poses and subtle micro-expressions was deeply rewarding.
In addition, while the chunky black leather boots looked great, they were actually quite heavy. Maintaining naturally extended leg poses required quite a bit of physical energy during the shoot. Fortunately, the final results turned out fantastic, and the reflective leather texture added dimension to the photos. The gloves were another indispensable part of the styling: the black fingerless gloves sharpened the gestures while creating a perfect visual echo with the black collar and belt, making the overall color composition exceptionally harmonious.
The overall set conveys a relatively quiet atmosphere without overly complex poses, focusing instead on capturing Yuuka's authentic self in front of a calm lens. I hope these photos successfully deliver this clean, focused ambiance.
