[Tachibana Hikari cosplay] Blue Archive Tachibana Hikari's Melon-Colored Cozy Time at Home

I've finally sorted out this Tachibana Hikari cosplay photo set! The main idea was to capture a particularly relaxed, casual, and homey side of the character. Since building a complex convention-style studio set wasn't an option, I chose my own living room instead. I thought pairing the melon-colored loungewear with the green carpet would create a fresh visual contrast, tying right in with the 'melon flavor' mentioned in the title.

Starting with makeup and wig styling: this long green hair wig was custom-made. To fit the elf ears, I trimmed the sideburns and behind-the-ear sections naturally, so there is a slight weight on the crown when wearing it. Elf ears are one of my favorite photoshoot props—they make the face look smaller and fit the character setting well. I selected pinkish-purple contact lenses. The eye makeup was applied fairly heavily at first, then softened slightly during post-processing to match her cute, soft aesthetic. The outfit is a light-yellow slip dress layered with a color-matching knit cardigan. Considering the delicate gauze and knit textures, I carefully ironed them before putting them on, giving the styling a cozy, comfortable vibe.

The shoot itself was quite casual. The apartment naturally had an orange single-seater armchair and a green rug, which immediately set the mood. On the table, I set up some faux sushi models bought online, paired with a round fan and a striped tumbler to add a lived-in touch of everyday life. The most physically demanding part was posing. For instance, in the third photo stretching both legs while sitting on the floor: to make the leg lines look slender, I tested angles behind the camera many times and kept my insteps pointed. While walking barefoot on the carpet felt comfy, holding that pose was exhausting. The first side-sitting pose required twisting my torso completely, putting quite a strain on my lower back—all to highlight the character's suppleness and leg lines.

The lighting was soft afternoon natural light filtering through sheer white curtains. I deliberately controlled this—warm color temperature without harsh lamps, ensuring the light harmonized best with the melon and orange hues of the home decor. In retouching, the focus was on translucent skin texture without exaggerated liquefaction, harmonizing the overall color palette, boosting the contrast between the green hair and yellow dress, and slightly brightening the orange armchair to enrich the color spectrum. As a cosplay experiment, blending the indoor lifestyle photography aesthetic with the character's everyday charm worked seamlessly, and I really enjoyed the lazy afternoon atmosphere. What I felt most while creating this set is how crucial setting choice is to capturing a character's personality. Hope everyone enjoys this life-filled photoshoot!
