Feeling the humid ocean breeze by the sea really induces a massive wave of sleepiness. However, actually falling asleep in a place like this poses serious dangers from rising tides or sudden weather shifts. So, even though I look zoned out in the photos, keeping a close eye on the surroundings at the beach and putting safety first is essential.

This time, I prepared the summer outfit for Takanashi Hoshino from Blue Archive. Her overall image gives off a lazy, casual yet deeply reliable aura—this gap moe contrast was actually super fun to bring out. On the day of the shoot, the sea had a very soft color tone, which was perfect for anchoring that drowsy, relaxed vibe.

Regarding prop preparation, that giant blue inflatable toy served as the central interactive element of the whole shoot. Its chubby shape and slightly dopey facial expression not only complemented the overall low-saturation color palette, but also acted as a natural support for adjusting my body posture. The photographer put a lot of thought into the composition, carefully capturing both the grainy texture of the sand and the ripples of the seawater.

For the hair, I used a long, straight pale-pink wig and recreated the translucent sunglasses resting on top of her head. Although it was summer, staying out in the continuous sea breeze got a bit chilly after a while. The oversized mint-green coat matched her canonical loungewear style on one hand, while balancing the overall color harmony of the frame on the other.

During the shoot, the trickiest part was actually nailing the emotion of "drowsiness." While I had to look visually sleep-deprived, coordinating eyes, expression, and body posture required a surprising amount of core control. I couldn't look completely limp; instead, I needed to sustain a subtle, subconscious readiness to snap to attention at any moment.

For footwear, I chose white crisscross strappy platform sandals. They proved extremely practical for Beach photography, avoiding sinking into the sand and allowing me to easily shift between squatting and kneeling poses. Paired with a yellow-and-white checkered picnic mat, the summer vacation atmosphere was dialed all the way up.

As for the outfit, I wore a two-piece ruffled Swimsuit cosplay set. The advantage of this style is that it accentuates the character's unique body silhouette while offering plenty of freedom of movement. Capturing shifting light and shadows on the beach, the combo of white and mint green looked exceptionally crisp, perfectly aligning with Blue Archive's signature anime aesthetic. Wearing the outer cardigan open offered shelter from harsh rays while adding casual layers to the visual framing. Still, real outdoor summer shoots require strict heatstroke prevention, as staying out in this environment for long stretches easily drains your stamina.

To match that laid-back ambiance, I avoided forcing overly energetic expressions, leaning instead into a sleepy, heavy-lidded look. In some shots, I looked open-eyed into the camera, keeping my gaze clear yet gentle; in others, I closed my eyes completely, resting against the inflatable prop to zone out completely. Switching up these emotional beats provided a broader range of pairing options during post-selection.

The photographer hit the shutter at perfect intervals, capturing moments right after I adjusted my center of gravity or relaxed my body between breaking waves and light breezes. Takanashi Hoshino in Blue Archive may seem lazy on the surface, but as a senior upperclassman, she possesses a strong sense of responsibility—a trait I aimed to reflect through this Takanashi Hoshino cosplay piece. Although wearing a swimsuit, the open natural seaside environment felt completely liberating rather than nerve-wracking.

Wrapping up this set and seeing shoes filled with sand felt strangely healing. Taking a shower, brushing out the wig, and packing away props marked the smooth conclusion of this Beach photography mission.
