[Kiryuu Kikyou cosplay] Blue Archive Japanese-Style Tea Room: The Cool Black Cat Maiden

Bringing Kiryuu Kikyou from Blue Archive to life was all about cultivating a serene, aloof Japanese-style atmosphere. The costume paired a cropped, tailored white sailor shirt featuring black-striped trims and a blue chest bow with a navy pleated skirt. Draped over my shoulders was her signature blue-and-black haori cloak patterned with white floral motifs, offering exquisite drape whether moving or seated. Knee-high White stockings, black wristbands, and a matching choker completed the ensemble.

The azure halo and black cat ears served as the visual centerpieces. The halo was anchored into the wig netting with crisscrossed bobby pins to keep it steady, while the ears were carefully trimmed along the fur grain for a sleek contour. Makeup accentuated eye depth with slightly elongated feline eyeliner and low-saturation nude lips to preserve a cool, detached tone.

Staged in a traditional tatami room with wooden shoji lattice screens and faux cherry blossoms, studio keys cast cool blue illumination through the paper partitions, contrasting warmly against the sakura foliage. Props included a cast-iron teapot, teacups, a vintage leather trunk, and blue braided cord. Demanding postures like the w-sitting pose holding my head or balancing on one knee to lightly touch the halo required sustained core tension to keep the silhouette fluid. Re-smoothing the White stockings between takes prevented wrinkling around the knees and ankles, allowing the quiet static elegance of this Animal-eared girl to shine in this Japanese-style photoshoot.
