[Sorasaki Hina Cosplay] The Prefect's Lazy Holiday: Cozily Staying at Home in Blue Archive

Taking advantage of a rare day off, I finally shot the pajama version of Sorasaki Hina that I've been yearning for. As a Prefect who intensely handles the affairs of the Prefect Team in Blue Archive year-round, I feel what she needs most is exactly this kind of holiday time—completely letting her guard down, nesting in her room, and spacing out. While shooting this set of photos, I also intentionally allowed my entire state to loosen up, following the direction of the sunlight to capture that dazed, reluctant-to-get-up feeling after sleeping in on a weekend morning.

The core of the entire styling lies in recreating that classic "Prefect" look: the white hair, purple eyes, eye patch, as well as the black crown on her head and the horns on both sides. However, this time we replaced her usual uniform with this set of loose, pink-base white polka-dot pajamas, throwing a thin yellow-orange blouse over it. This collision of colors immediately adds a lot of soft lifestyle flavor to the originally stern and fierce Disciplinary Committee Prefect. The lighting during the shoot was absolutely critical; we intentionally chose the moment when afternoon sunlight filters into the room through white sheer curtains. The hazy warm tones brought by natural light immensely enhanced the cozy, lazy ambiance. Without needing too many reflector boards, the transition between light and shadow beautifully expressed the texture of the wig and the soft drape of the pajamas.

There are also several highly detailed props coordinating within the frame. For instance, the floating black geometric halo above her head, with its purple-black lines and dangling purple diamond pendants, glints with a bit of luster under the backlight. Though ensuring it didn't reveal any flaws tested our camera angles severely during the shoot, the final result fits the setting perfectly. Additionally, we prepared a yellow plush teddy bear by the bed to fill the environment, making this private space on her rest day look much richer while breaking up any potential monotony from the yellow-and-white checkered bedsheets.

For the posing and emotional expression, we didn't opt for a rigid or cool-and-edgy approach. Because the theme is a "Holiday," her entire presence is exceptionally loose and relaxed. For example, the action of rubbing her eyes is a tiny detail I specially designed. Some players might feel that this eye patch covering one eye makes the character look cold, but paired with a sleepy, bleary-eyed expression and her hand gently rubbing her right eye, it instead brings out a wonderful gap-moe. Rather than sitting upright in a proper manner, she has her legs naturally crossed, with one foot in a fluffy white indoor slipper and the other bare foot resting on the wooden floor, her entire center of gravity leaning slightly forward. The posture shot this way feels both natural and carries a touch of authentic cuteness.

Regarding the makeup and hair styling, the eye makeup wasn't made heavy this time; the main focus was just wearing the purple colored contacts properly to keep the eye area clean and crisp. Since it aims for a casual look, the base makeup also pursues a light and thin application, which better emphasizes the lifestyle flavor in close-up macro shots. As for the hair section, this large area of pure white long straight hair can easily look stiff or frizzy if one isn't careful. Therefore, time must be spent combing the wig smooth before the shoot, and using a hair straightener to slightly adjust the curves of the bangs and sideburns. This ensures a gorgeous drape even under natural light, rendering that fluffy, natural texture of someone who has just washed their hair or just woken up.

The deep blue cloth ribbon on the floor was actually one of the matching props as well; originally, I intended to use it as a decoration or a waist belt. To prevent the frame from looking too cluttered during the shoot, I simply let it scatter onto the floor by her feet. This casual placement actually fits the lazy ambiance beautifully, completely devoid of any forced affectation. Comparing these two prints, the first one has a stronger sense of scene because it encompasses the full body, bed, teddy bear, and surrounding environment, while the close-up macro shot highlights the character's expressions and facial makeup details.

Being able to present this character in such an approachable manner feels like a tribute to the character herself. She carries far too much work on ordinary days, making a rare moment of relaxation like this incredibly precious—just like how each of us nests at home on weekends, wearing pajamas, and basking in the sun by the bedside. Although we had to watch out for the floating state of the halo from different angles during the shoot and avoid overexposed lighting that could make the white hair lose its layering, seeing the final prints brought a massive sense of achievement with that gentle light and shadow coupled with flawless recreation. This is likely where the true fun of doing cosplay lies: bringing a 2D character into real 3D daily life, allowing her to genuinely experience a true holiday time for a complete 2D daily life project.
