Putting on this uniform of the Highlander Twins' Tachibana Nozomi, along with her iconic glowing halo and demon tail, I took a highly satisfying set of photos in the outdoor venue of the convention today. This set of pictures captured by photographer Ah Bing perfectly recreates the character's slightly tsundere yet playful vibe. Details like the cap badge, double-breasted buttons, and cuff patterns look clean and sharp on the blue-and-white uniform. Paired with white tights and black short boots, the overall look has a strong sense of visual layering. For the shoot, we specifically chose an open-air area with metal fences, school desks, and chairs, utilizing natural diffuse light combined with a large aperture to blur the background, allowing the subject to stand out from the complex exhibition environment. Although the tail and halo are glowing effects added through post-processing synthesis, I deliberately left space when posing during the initial shoot. For instance, sitting on a chair holding a small arrow prop, or using a white-gloved hand to gently rest on the cap's brim, making the post-processed integration look more natural and less stiff. This outfit is actually quite demanding in terms of movement; it requires maintaining the upright posture of the uniform while also bringing out the character's lively side. Therefore, I tried several different sitting positions and gestures, such as sitting cross-legged on a school desk flashing a peace sign, or resting one leg on the edge of a chair while turning back sideways. These help add a sense of narrative to the static frames. Many people have asked me about the hair color and wig styling before. This time, I used light green long straight hair, trimmed with elf ears and curtain bangs, which looks very refreshing on camera. During the process of cosplay photography, Ah Bing patiently helped me adjust camera positions and angles, capturing many momentary emotions, such as the instant when a finger lightly touches the chin in thought, or a playful action of raising both hands above the head pretending to surrender. Actually, when doing a train uniform cosplay for characters with obvious uniform elements and fantasy settings (halo and tail), the hardest part is conveying the character's personality through body language. Fortunately, the shooting environment was bright this time, and the color contrast was just right, preserving the natural skin tone and hair strand texture in post-processing. As an interpretation of Tachibana Nozomi from the Highlander Twins series, I did my best to recreate that fresh, energetic feel. Looking like a green cantaloupe illuminated by the sun in the photos makes me quite happy.
