Preparing this Sakuya Izayoi cosplay took over half a month from start to finish. Aiming for a cool and elegant aesthetic, I chose a luminous, clear foundation and focused on fine-tuning the eye makeup. The blue contact lenses were custom-ordered, and the angle of the eyeliner and placement of the false eyelashes were tested multiple times to achieve that precise doll-like appearance shown in the photos. The silver-white wig was also trimmed repeatedly—not only to create a natural drape for the front bangs, but also to weave neat braids. The lace-trimmed maid cap was quite substantial, requiring several bobby pins to keep securely pinned to the hair. The costume itself is rich in details: navy jacquard fabric paired with white lace, finished with a dark green ribbon bow and gem brooch on the chest. Putting on this Silver-haired maid cosplay outfit was more intricate than expected, requiring every ribbon and tie to be fastened carefully.
This shoot was divided across two scenes. The first two photos were taken inside a car using natural ambient light; the car interior was cramped, so I adjusted my poses as much as possible to highlight the collar and cuff details. The remaining photos were shot in a vintage cafe we scouted specifically—the warm yellow lighting suited the character's mysterious and elegant aura perfectly. Sitting down with the skirt flared out while holding the silver pocket watch prop brought out that classic vintage feel. To prevent glare on the pocket watch, the photographer adjusted several light positions, ensuring the prop's details were rendered crisp and clear. Recreating iconic characters from classic franchises is always rewarding when you nail their signature elements. The shooting process went smoothly; aside from the costume being a bit heavy and somewhat stuffy to wear in summer, the entire Cosplay photography experience was seamless. Posting these right after the shoot to archive the memory and document this journey for the future.
