This classic stage outfit of KAITO tests the fabric's texture presentation under lighting the most. The outer white reflective material and the blue-and-yellow color blocking are very prone to overexposure under strong studio lights, so during pre-shooting and post-processing color grading, I deliberately suppressed the highlights to make the clothing's three-dimensional feel stronger. The headset prop on the head also had its structure reinforced by myself to ensure it wouldn't easily fall off when posing.
The wig part was styled very neatly today; bright blue is actually quite easy to make skin look darker, so the base makeup was made one shade brighter than usual, paired with blue contact lenses, trying my best to approximate that non-realistic feel of a virtual idol. To match the coolness of this outfit, blush was minimized in the makeup, emphasizing the sharpness of the eyebrows and eyes, and the nails were specially painted with dark blue nail polish to echo the overall color tone.
The shooting location was chosen as a studio with crystal bead curtains and European-style pillars, paired with that huge moon prop, creating a very dreamy overall atmosphere. As for the shot where everyone sees me stepping on the Roman pillar with one leg, the core exertion point of that action actually lies entirely on the supporting leg, while also controlling the blue long cape behind me so it floats out in a nice arc—it took several discarded shots to finally capture a natural state. The blue rose held in hand was meant to increase the color layering of the frame, echoing the same color family as my hair.
This time I also specially brought a chibi version of myself; the shot of holding a small plush toy facing the lens really touched me. As a member of VOCALOID, many of KAITO's songs have accompanied me for a long time, and the phrases like staying by your side forever and leaving behind a melody that will never dissipate are also the feelings I wanted to convey to everyone through the images this time. When conceiving the poses, besides showcasing the tailoring of the clothing, I also added some interactions like reaching out and touching the crystal curtains, trying to create a feeling of a virtual idol breaking the dimensional wall and coming to reality. I am extremely satisfied with the lighting of this set of photos; whether it's the full-body shot under the blue background or the face-close-up close-up shot, they both successfully showcase the clothing's texture and the character's temperament. I hope this set of photos can perfectly blend the gentleness and coolness belonging to the virtual singer.
