[Cartethyia Cosplay] The Gentle and Healing Girl in Wuthering Waves

When shooting this costume design for Cartethyia, my greatest impression was its lightness and translucency. Although the world of Wuthering Waves is filled with battles and unknown dangers, the character of Cartethyia carries an opposite healing attribute, and I can feel her determination every time I engage with the original work. To fit this temperament, when preparing the makeup and styling, I specifically did less with the base makeup, striving for a clear and natural look. Paired with a light blonde wig and elf ears, I tried my best to capture the softness belonging to flaxen hair strands, embodying the look of an Elf girl. Regarding the choice of costume materials, the blue-and-white gradient gauze fabric presents beautiful, flowing layers under natural light, which is something I valued deeply during the shoot. For the indoor scene layout, a large amount of flowers and plush props were deliberately integrated, along with those fan-made cotton dolls, giving the overall picture a bit more of a daily-life feel and companionship, rather than being just a simple studio shoot.

During the shooting process, a lot of thought went into adjusting the position of light refraction to present the sparkling, star-like glimmer details on the skirt hem. Although the tailoring of this outfit follows an elegant style, its diversity in detailed design—such as the neck decorations and dangling tassels—actually carries a subtle agility, displaying a wonderful dynamic beauty when moving around. I tried my best to project Cartethyia's core theme of "the world is not gentle, but the heart remains soft" into these photos for this Cosplay photography session. The meaning of cosplay often lies not in a 100% replication of a 2D visual, but in using the light, shadow, color, and emotion of the real world to grant the character a vivid moment. Taking off the high heels, switching to a relaxed sitting posture, and interacting with those cute plush items nearby made the entire shooting rhythm extremely comfortable, letting the Atmosphere flow out naturally. Even amid a bustling daily life, freezing such a serene frame through the viewfinder makes all the previous preparations for makeup, hair, and scenes feel incredibly meaningful.
