[Yu Linglong Cosplay] NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Twin-Tail Little Zombie's Convention Moments

A new set of convention photos is out! This time I chose to shoot Yu Linglong from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT. On the day of the shoot, the venue for this Beijing Anime Convention had quite heavy foot traffic, but the photographer used a large-aperture lens to nicely avoid the cluttered background, focusing the visual center on the overall styling. Because the character Yu Linglong inherently carries an agile and lightweight quality, I specially placed the focus this time on snapshots of several large-amplitude body movements.

In terms of clothing, this outfit was crafted with a lot of effort. The main peacock blue color scheme is paired with black-and-gold borders and embroidery. The short-styled top combined with the thin, semi-transparent mesh wide sleeves creates an excellent sense of airiness when movements unfold. The large-area cutouts on both sides of the waist paired with red braided cord lacings form a beautiful contrast with the overall dark tone. The shorts of the lower suit and the lace patterns on the thigh-high stockings are processed quite exquisitely. That pair of high heels with blue soles and big red pom poms on the toes is a highly elevating detail in the entire look, which requires great ankle strength to keep stable when lifting the leg.

The long staff prop is heavier than it looks. The surface texture combining bark and jade is hand-painted, and the wrapped red and white cloth strips serve as a finishing touch, with the holding balance point located near the middle. To match the length of the staff, I specially chose gloves with golden sharp armor claws to grasp it, paying attention to the placement posture of my fingers when taking photos to prevent the armor from catching on the cloth strips.

Performing the single-leg high-kick pose in photos 3 and 4 was actually very physically demanding. One foot in a stiletto heel standing on the smooth exhibition hall floor while the other leg had to be raised almost horizontally, making the staff a balance bar to stabilize my body's center of gravity at this moment. In this position, the lines of the thigh and the texture of the stockings could be displayed most naturally, which is personally one of my favorite photogenic angles for this character. Although I wore safety shorts, this short outfit layout still places high demands on the smoothness of the actions.

The biggest thing to overcome during the shooting process was actually the perspective issue. The photographer's camera position was set relatively low, and from the low-angle upward perspective combined with the fill light from the flash, it could make the figure look tall, straight, and imposing. After every single action freeze, my sole could feel a solid amount of pressure. To maintain the extension of the leg and shoulder lines, my core strength had to remain flexed the entire time.

In the background, other attendees, soft umbrellas, and signs are visible. Although these elements were blurred out in the final cuts, these traces of on-site presence conversely gave this set of photos a bit more authentic, bustling anime convention atmosphere. The character Yu Linglong in NARAKA: BLADEPOINT possesses both a twin-tailed loli form and a highly fierce combat style. This red-and-blue color scheme "little zombie" look perfectly fuses these two contradictory traits together.

Quite a bit of homework was done before the shoot, doing the hair up into two high buns and adding blue bird feathers and hair accessories to pull the overall visual center of gravity upward. There are many small mandarin collars, bead strands, and tassels on the clothing, which sway with the body's rhythm when moving, requiring special attention to the timing of dynamic snapshots when selecting photos in post-production. Fortunately, the effect of the final cuts is quite satisfying; this set of deep blue garments has an excellent reflective texture under the flash, and those originally dim totem patterns were all clearly revealed.

Additionally, the neckline design of this outfit is also a highlight. The high collar, paired with a red string pendant and a golden necklace, allows the lines of the collarbone and neck to be brightened under this kind of stage overhead lighting, making the frame look visually very delicate. To perform the single-leg high-kick action steadily, it tests the strength of the glutes and core; under the condition of wearing high heels, arching the instep straight makes the leg lines look even more slender in the frame. This shooting experience was delightful, and having organized these pictures, I'm posting them to record the moment.
