[Kaveh cosplay] A Personal Take on HaiKaveh AU: White Shirt Styling in a Night Portrait - Image 1

For this shoot, I indulged in presenting Kaveh under a HaiKaveh derivative setting, taking advantage of the night to capture a relatively casual, atmospheric set of photos. Let's start with the makeup: Kaveh's eyes are exceptionally distinctive, so I deliberately chose vivid, high-saturation crimson contact lenses. To balance such an intense eye color, I applied a minimalist approach to the eye makeup, skipping intricate color stacking and concentrating strictly on structural contouring. The eyeliner was elongated without appearing harsh, while the lower lash line was softly smudged with dark eyeshadow and finished with denser false eyelashes to give the eyes deeper dimension and spirited intensity under flash photography. The base makeup utilized a matte finish to prevent the face from looking flat due to night reflections, subtly reinforced with contouring along the cheekbones and jawline for sculpted dimension.

The wig was the centerpiece of this styling. Kaveh's short golden hair looks effortless, but it actually demands meticulous layering. Trimming the bangs required leaving loose wisps rather than a blunt cut, softly veiling the eyes to evoke an unrestrained, rakish look. To preserve volume, I used generous setting spray before shooting to carve out textured definition, preventing the wig from sticking flat against the scalp in the night breeze or turning into an untextured block of color on camera. Fiber sheen was equally critical; to keep it from looking frizzy under the flash, I smoothed it down with hair serum beforehand.

In terms of wardrobe, I selected a foundational White shirt. The fabric needed structure rather than a flimsy silhouette to firmly support the shoulder line. I deliberately left the top two buttons undone—both to elongate the neck line and to suit the character's unconfined, free-spirited temperament. A pair of delicate metal-framed glasses hung hooked from the front placket rather than worn directly on the face, serving as a subtle focal point that kept the upper body composition from looking bare. A grey crossbody strap acted as a visual diagonal, enriching the outfit's layered styling.

Managing the shooting environment played an equally significant role. To avoid the harsh daylight glare and bustling crowds, we opted for an outdoor nighttime setting. A Night portrait heavily tests auxiliary lighting: for the face, a cool-white LED panel angled slightly downward from the front lit up facial nuances without washing out the makeup. Instead of clearing the backdrop completely, we preserved the ambient night lanterns and silhouettes of foliage, using a wide aperture to melt distracting elements into creamy bokeh. This produced clean light-and-dark contrast, granting the frame rich mood without looking cluttered. Cool tones dominated the color grading, making the White shirt stand out brilliantly against the dark night and, together with the golden hair, focusing the visual center firmly on the subject.

Choosing Kaveh stems largely from the emotional tension within his character. Under the HaiKaveh theme, the contradictory yet magnetic facets of his personality offer immense creative freedom. Before the lens, it isn't enough to simply pose attractively; one must channel that state of gentle exhaustion intertwined with steadfast perseverance. The gaze must avoid stiffness, aligning with the sharpness of the red eyes with a slight tilt of the head to let the light trace facial contours. From concept to execution, every detail was tailored around the character's inner mood, and I hope everyone can feel the care poured into this personal piece.
