[Lan Meng Cosplay] NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, Street Night Shoot Plays the Soundwave Movement

When I received the design concept and costume for Lan Meng, I kept thinking about how to maximize the recreation of that Idol stage style with vibrating soundwaves. Today, I finally realized this vision by completing this outdoor shoot on urban night streets.

Starting with the overall styling. The wig chosen this time is a light silver-white tone with subtle layered trims at the ends, allowing hair strands to display natural sheen under strong lighting. Thin bangs on the forehead paired with blue contact lenses effectively focus the eyes, enhancing overall mystery and stage presence. For makeup, I used red lips to balance the overall cool-toned base, allowing the face to maintain clear contours and vibrant color under blue-purple ambient fill light.

The biggest highlight of this costume lies in its material splicing and layered design. The upper puff sleeves utilize light purple sheer tulle with glitter material—both fluffy and lightweight—creating a lovely flow with arm movements. The dark cinched waist structure around the chest and waist is the visual focal point, distributed with numerous metal rivets and strap details; the tough sense of restraint forms a striking contrast with the softness of the tulle. Together with the blue 3D emblem ornament on the chest, it has great texture and substance.

The pleated skirt on the lower half has rich layering; the outer layer is a semi-transparent pearlescent material alternating in white and light purple, producing colorful reflective effects under strong light. This reflective material is extremely sensitive to light, so during the shoot we had to repeatedly adjust angles to let it reflect charming colors without losing detail to overexposure. The black hollow fishnet socks under the skirt are key to elevating the slick, confident feel and allure of the overall look. Visually elongating leg lines, paired with a one-knee kneeling posture, it happens to exhibit a dynamic posture combining strength and softness.

The weather on the shooting day was super helpful; after crowds faded from the city square at night, a broad open space was left. The photographer was adept at utilizing ambient light; the strong fill light on the left hit the floor tiles to create a large area of diffuse reflection, generating a wet, dreamy halo effect. This shoot employed many low-angle, looking-up shots to maximize character proportions, creating immense visual tension on the right side of the frame alongside my open-armed posture. The held microphone was not just a prop, but an important medium for expressing character emotion in this set—holding the mic with slightly parted lips, I felt as if I were truly standing on a spotlighted stage, ready to sing the most impactful melody.

Being an outdoor Night portrait shoot, stray light and focus were the biggest challenges. Ground reflections easily caused camera metering errors; to ensure accurate face exposure while retaining garment glitter details, we repeatedly tested parameters. The cool-tone treatment of the overall image, combined with strong contrast between highlights and shadows, truly rendered a tech and futuristic feel in these photos. In playing this character, I tried to endow poses with open, confident strength, interpreting the freedom and uninhibited spirit of the "soundwave vibration" theme through extended hands and focused eyes.

From concept to execution, this entire photo set involved many details including costume adjustments, hair/makeup coordination, and lighting management. I really love the final atmosphere—full of energy yet delicate—and this contrasting experience of completing a stage concept on real streets is precisely the unique joy that Cosplay photography brings me.
