[Remielle cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's Night and Tulle Dress

This is the first set of outdoor location photos after finalizing the makeup and styling for this outfit, and choosing this night venue was truly fitting. The blue bow on the head and the silver star-shaped hair accessories immediately set the tone at first glance. Although the short pink wig looks lightweight and airy, it was actually very difficult to maintain its shape under strong outdoor wind, requiring heavy hairspray and meticulous styling to keep its voluminous texture on camera. The elf ears added a fantasy flair, while the blue-purple contact lenses echoed the colors of the neckline and tassels. For the makeup, I leaned towards a minimalist approach, focusing on a clear and translucent base to prevent heavy eyeshadow from disrupting the overall clean aesthetic.

The costume features numerous intricate design details: detached white sleeves and generous skin exposure across the chest allow the upper body lines to look fluid and open. The silver star button at the collar and the tassels below enrich the overall layering, while the translucent butterfly ornament right in the center perfectly fills the visual space across the chest. This combination of rigid metallic elements and soft, delicate fabric is also a major highlight of this styling.

The entire shoot was quite challenging because the skirt's hem incorporates extensive white tulle. When shooting in seated or reclining poses, we had to constantly adjust the drape of the fabric by hand so that it spread naturally across the ground rather than bunching up. Since the shoot took place at night, lighting became the top priority. For the key light, we chose cool white hard lighting, which flatters fair skin tones while bringing out the glossy texture of the fabrics. The background lighting incorporated distant streetlights along with pink and blue ambient sources; using a wide-aperture lens blurred these lights into soft bokeh orbs, adding an intensely dreamy atmosphere to the frame and avoiding the pitch-black background issue common in night portrait shoots.

To convey the airy flow of the costume while simultaneously highlighting the hosiery and legs, I specifically chose an extended seated pose in terms of framing and body posture. The white thigh-highs outfit paired with silver glossy lace-up flats visually elongated the leg lines. Gently resting one hand against my jaw was an attempt to convey a cool, independent, yet subtly soft temperament. Throughout the photoshoot, we repeatedly adjusted the sitting angle to ensure the posture looked relaxed and effortless rather than forced.

Many might feel that costumes with fantasy elements are hard to pull off outside of studio settings, but once photographed, their incredible responsiveness to light and shadow along with the fabric's airy breathability actually inject immense visual tension into the photos. During the shoot, I frequently had to readjust the hair accessories to prevent them from shifting during larger movements. Post-processing for this set of cosplay photography was kept minimal, primarily preserving the clean, cool glamour of the on-site lighting without excessive color grading shifts. The synergy with the photography team was seamless, capturing the exact right moments with every shutter press. Overall, I am quite pleased with this outdoor night shoot: the flowing movement of the tulle dress combined with the bokeh orbs, alongside the elf ears and light-colored hair, faithfully brought out the character's agile and ethereal qualities. Night shoots are undeniably grueling, but seeing the final photos makes all the running around feel completely worthwhile.
