This KFC and Genshin Impact collaboration was truly thrilling, finally giving me the perfect opportunity to cosplay Lynette! To honor the character faithfully, I poured immense effort into both the costume tailoring and the makeup. The dress is primarily made of black faux leather, where every seam and white trim required meticulous handling; reflective leather can easily appear bulky under bright venue lighting, so when balancing the white puff sleeves and oversized red bow, I paid close attention to overall proportions and a cinched waistline. The pleated skirt and ruffled white trims underneath create fantastic layered volume, displaying a lovely flare in motion. The sleek black gloves were an absolute essential, fitting snugly along the arms while creating a striking textural contrast against the white puff sleeves.
Styling the wig was the centerpiece of my prep work. Lynette's silver-white bob paired with feline beast ears demanded substantial hairspray and setting mist to hold structural shape. To ensure authentic hair sheen, I blended and cross-wove two tonal fiber shades. The miniature magician top hat was anchored directly to the wig net with concealed bobby pins so it wouldn't dislodge even during dynamic poses. For makeup, I opted for translucent blue contacts, and used gel eyeliner to sketch that iconic dark mark on the cheek, slightly intensifying the edges so it stayed sharp on camera. The neck lace and the silver cross pendant on the chest were crowning touches, adding an aristocratic flair to the outfit. I chose a matte foundation base to maintain an immaculate, clean finish under intense indoor lighting.
During the shoot, I deliberately practiced feline postures and nuanced expressions to channel her cat-like essence. To match Genshin Impact's anime charm, I experimented with poses like kicking up one heel and framing playful cat paws with both hands. The pairing of long black gloves and chunky platform combat boots visually elongated my silhouette. I specifically selected platform boots with side lacing to both add height and sculpt sleek leg lines. The collaboration paper cup prop was fairly lightweight, but when clutching it to my chest, I was mindful to keep the waistline visible to showcase the red sash ornament and the Black stockings leggings underneath. The opaque Black stockings streamlined the leg contour, matching the boots flawlessly.
Shooting by the storefront showcase, the massive promotional poster in the backdrop served as a natural framing device. The venue lighting was ample; we introduced a slightly cool fill light to harmonize with the blue eyes, and I was thrilled with the resulting shots, which captured that signature subtly tsundere, spirited little-maid persona. For full-body shots, resting my weight onto one leg while bending the other slightly lent a relaxed, natural curve to the body line. Whenever facing backlighting, I proactively shifted angles to ensure my face and chest metallic accessories caught the light. From the costume nuances to the electric shoot ambiance, all the prep and effort over the day proved entirely worthwhile—every time I cosplay a beloved character, I discover fresh joy.
