When I walked into the photo studio wearing this Formidable cosplay outfit from Zhaozhaoxiazi, my first impression was the extremely high level of completeness in the overall styling. The white and blue color scheme, coupled with delicate lace embroidery, visually delivers a clean and slightly sacred feeling. The white lace choker fits the neckline perfectly, while the blue satin ribbon at the waist creates a high waistline, making the lower body look exceptionally slender.
For this Anime-style photography session, a bouquet of white lilies was prepared as an important prop. The pure texture of the lilies complements the lace on the skirt and the flowing, semi-transparent white headpiece perfectly. Especially in picture 3, when sitting down with the bouquet resting on my lap, combined with the white thigh-highs outfit and high heels, the overall atmosphere is spot on. Before the shoot began, I had considered showcasing various poses. The lying pose in picture 1 is mainly to capture that casual, languid vibe, while the squatting pose in picture 2 better displays the layered effect of the skirt spread out on the ground. Finally, the sitting pose in picture 3 is my favorite composition of the whole session; the blue trailing veil on the back echoes the white sheer curtains, perfectly outlining the elegant yet slightly nonchalant temperament of the character in Azur Lane.
The personality setting of this character is actually quite interesting. The "fat dinosaur" meme on the internet adds a lot of gap moe to the character. Therefore, in controlling my expressions, I deliberately avoided being too serious and instead added some playful and slightly arrogant looks. Shooting this outfit is quite a test of dynamic control because the back veil is very long. You have to find the best position to spread it out, and any slight movement requires readjusting. Additionally, the two black horn hair accessories are very eye-catching; you need to find the right angle when wearing them to present that slightly forward-leaning sense of power.
The set design was done with great care. The photographer scattered vintage gold picture frames and white Roman pillars on the floor. Combined with the blue window light in the background, the lighting coming from the upper side brought out the lace jacquard on the skirt and the glossiness of the stockings. The white thigh-highs outfit paired with high heels truly shined under this layered lighting, elongating the visual proportions while maintaining the elegance of the overall look, avoiding any overly flashy tackiness. After the final photos came out, I really felt that the texture and lighting in this set perfectly captured the details of the clothes. Actually, after several hours of continuous shooting, my knees and legs were a bit sore, but the moment I saw the final photos, I felt this outfit was truly expressive. The resulting makeup and hairstyle really suited the character, proving that all the time spent preparing was not in vain.
