This photoset is a deep deconstruction of the character's temperament. The color-blocked tailoring of the white ruffled off-the-shoulder top and the blue modified cheongsam skirt, paired with the prominent pink bowknot and emerald gemstone pendant at the neck, visually creates a look that balances softness and strength. The wig was specially styled to be slightly airy and eye-covering, which, complemented by the gray-blue contact lenses, truly allows one to instantly enter that cool and detached static atmosphere.
Today's Chinese traditional style studio set at Muyue Photography Studio was perfectly arranged. The well-placed white plum blossom branches in the background, hanging calligraphy scrolls, and the wooden low couch and cushions on the floor formed an excellent visual unity with this primary blue and white outfit.
During the shooting process, I communicated repeatedly with the photographer Master shiroTianTianFeng, making multiple adjustments to the subtle angles of the sitting posture. Especially in several compositions where I leaned sideways against a small table, my right hand was deliberately relaxed on the edge of the table, while my left hand held that small white sake cup, attempting to create a leisurely yet not overly pleasing sense of laziness. For Ruan Mei in Honkai: Star Rail, elegance and restraint are core elements, so the body language throughout the entire session remained relatively restrained, avoiding any broad or exaggerated movements.
The plush blanket combined with the bamboo and wooden tables were highly refined materials. This commitment to Chinese-style cosplay details shines through. The biggest surprise was that plump, warm-yellow paper lantern in the lower left corner; under the coverage of the cool-toned main light, it added a soft touch of contrast to the edge of the frame. To enrich the details, a pearl anklet was specially worn around the ankle. This string of small pearls played a great brightening role in the close-up shots of the bare feet, filling the blank lighting areas on the legs.
Actually, shooting this type of static photoset heavily tests one's patience. The white patterned decorations and tassels on the clothes easily stretch and deform when maintaining the same sitting posture for a long time; we even paused twice mid-shoot specifically to tidy up the shoulder straps and skirt hem. Although the shoes were beautiful, I had to pay close attention to balance on the soft couch, so later I simply took off the shoes to get on the couch, making the pearl decorations on the ankle the focus of attention instead. Taking a few sips of the liquid inside the prop, I found the texture of the porcelain to be outstanding.
The entire shoot lasted about two hours. Accompanied by the quiet indoor atmosphere, the whole process was very smooth and efficient. There was no fatigue brought by big movements; instead, it allowed me to quiet my mind and immerse myself in this character creation. After wrapping up, I checked the composition again and found that this kind of framing in Anime-style photography—featuring large dark areas with a touch of cool light—is indeed exceptionally enduring. The central positioning of the figure, paired with the folding fan and tea set, made the narrative of this Chinese traditional style photoshoot sufficiently clear.
