The Sorasaki Hina convention photos from the CPGZ Comic Convention are finally sorted out! The weather was excellent last weekend when we went out, and the lighting at the convention was perfect for highlighting the detail and texture of this costume. The entire outfit is a navy blue-and-black military uniform style. The collar is finished with black plush fur trim, and paired with the gold-bordered double-breasted buttons on the chest and cascading metal chain accessories, it looks highly rich in layers. The lower body is paired with black over-the-knee velvet socks and lace-up leather boots, which preserve the character's tactical feel while showing off slender leg lines. The most time-consuming parts were actually the white long hair styling, the horn accessories on the head, and the purple halo prop floating above my head. To secure these properly and prevent them from shifting in the crowded convention environment, I made quite a lot of reinforcing adjustments in advance.
The accompanied large-size rifle prop is highly eye-catching and feels quite heavy in hand. To shoot a sharp sense of motion, I changed into several poses by the metal railings during the photoshoot. From the domineering stance of resting the rifle on my shoulder to inspect the scene, to the dynamic snapshot of turning sideways to aim, and finally to the last one leaning against the railings with legs crossed for a relaxed feel—each photo strived to blend into the scene while maintaining the character's temperament. The metal crowd-control barriers on-site and the modern glass curtain wall architecture in the background naturally carry a cold-toned sense of order, perfectly matching the sci-fi world-building of Blue Archive.
The convention day was actually extremely busy, but I met many fellow fans and professional photographers on-site, and everyone was highly friendly. When shooting this set of photos, I intentionally didn't use excessive post-processing effects, but restored the makeup and costume colors under natural light, which looks much closer to the character's three-dimensional reality. Although wearing the wig and props all day was indeed a bit exhausting, seeing the presentation on camera made all the preparations feel completely worth it. The hem of this military cape features a purple inner lining, which creates flowing layers when the wind blows or when I turn around, receiving quite a lot of attention on-site.
For roleplaying, Sorasaki Hina feels steady, calm, and highly decisive to me. Therefore, in my expression management, I tried to suppress smiles and keep my gaze sharp and focused, coordinating with the weapon prop to showcase a commanding, powerful aura. Of course, walking around the convention in high heels is indeed tiring, but fortunately, the soles of these boots are relatively thick, so they didn't pinch my feet too much even after standing all day. The convention photos captured exactly the cool, dashing feel I wanted. Outdoor natural light is indeed the best way to showcase the quality of Cosplay photography—no over-the-top filters, everything is just right. I hope everyone can feel my dedicated understanding of this character.
