[Ju Fufu cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's Combat Hero Sorties

Lighting inside the Mengxiang Comic Con hall was quite demanding; overhead mesh structures and intense ceiling fixtures can easily clutter a frame. Cosplaying Ju Fufu this time, what I wanted most was to recreate her battle-ready essence—a seamless blend of fierce agility and adorable charm. While the outfit might look straightforward at first glance, the details are abundant: the cropped yellow jacket contrasts boldly against the black base layer, and to allow unhindered movement, I chose shorts detailed with red strapping accents, paired with blue high-top canvas sneakers and white crew socks for a clean, athletic silhouette. The undisputed showstoppers are the massive white plush tail and black animal ears; the voluminous fur brings immense presence on camera. To keep the tail from appearing rigid mid-motion, I specifically dialed in its harness placement during prep, ensuring it swept into a natural arc whenever I kicked.

In terms of action, I went with a high side kick combined with a single-arm guard block. This stance demands not only raw leg extension and muscular control, but also rock-solid upper-body equilibrium. Photographer Zhenyu nailed the shutter timing flawlessly: the low worm's-eye perspective not only lengthened proportions, but also integrated the geometric lines of the hall's grid ceiling into the background, providing dynamic leading lines. To maintain fluid movement without the tail looking stiff, I made conscious shifts in my center of gravity during takes to let the tail flick naturally. Shooting dynamic kinetic frames like this is undeniably exhausting—especially repeating jumps and locking stability on a single plant foot—yet witnessing the explosive momentum captured in the selects makes every drop of sweat worthwhile. Ju Fufu is overflowing with pep, and I poured everything into channeling her vibrant persona, from the focused intensity of the gaze down to poised finger grips, projecting an aura of fearless, bold confidence.

Shooting on a crowded convention floor with constant foot traffic can easily break focus. Yet once I locked into character, my attention tuned entirely to the lens and the character's internal pulse. The black-and-yellow color-blocking popped brilliantly against the red mesh lattice of the expo backdrop, creating vivid chromatic contrast. Styling the wig took meticulous work as well: curving the bangs and side locks to hug the face cleanly while ensuring they stayed intact during explosive movements. The white plush ear headband also required ongoing angle tweaks whenever I dipped or turned to ensure optimal perspective. Pulling off this set seamlessly owed everything to Zhenyu's sharp command of lighting and framing; we aligned closely on angles and action pacing on set.

Whenever I tackle a character with high-mobility choreography, I always run through thorough dynamic stretches beforehand to avoid muscle strain. A high kick looks deceptively simple, but executing clean form while keeping facial composure completely relaxed demands relentless practice. Judging from the final photos, this composition loaded with dynamic tension captures her martial style with pristine clarity while allowing the garment tailoring and accents to shine. The overall shoot was an absolute blast, and capturing such an action-packed visual record at an anime expo was a truly memorable experience.
