[Formidable Cosplay] Illustrious-Class Aircraft Carrier No. 3, On Duty Today

Wearing this attire of the Illustrious-class aircraft carrier No. 3, Formidable, and standing under the spotlights of the convention floor, I began the 45th set of Convention photos for this Azur Lane themed shoot. There are many design details in this outfit; the row of red heart-shaped buttons on the white corset, combined with the ruby bowknot at the collar, paired with the silver-white wig and red circle lenses, serve as the core visual hallmarks of this setup. The wig is trimmed into a richly layered straight-bangs style, and the silver-white texture of the hair ends glimmers with a soft luster under the strobe, fitting the character's temperament beautifully. To find a good shooting angle, we chose a spacious but relatively dim corner inside the venue, utilizing a strong front light source to highlight the texture of the costume fabric.

During the shoot, I kept holding the prop tray and strawberry cake in my hands, attempting to simulate that subtle expression of serving daily on the ship while actually scheming about other things in her mind. Among them, the photo with one leg raised was a pose I personally found quite challenging; maintaining an upright upper body while steadily holding the tray in both hands required a high sense of balance. However, after putting on the white over-the-knee socks and black thick-soled lace-up shoes, the elongation of the leg lines was beautifully extended. Combined with the complex black-and-white ruffled tiers on the skirt, my standing posture looked incredibly majestic and tall. In the sitting shots, I transitioned to a white plush mat, sitting with my legs gathered to the side. This angle not only showcased the volume of the skirt and the layered lace but also captured the deep V-neck design of the collar and the slim waistline silhouette through high-and-low camera angle variations.

The crowd at the convention floor was actually very noisy, but this outfit has indeed so many details—not just the lace on the skirt hem and cuffs, but also the ID card lanyard on the chest and the gray polka-dot bow at the waist. All of these accessories had to be arranged to the correct angles before shooting. For this makeup, I emphasized the color vibrancy of the red pupils and the layering of the eyeshadow, preventing my face from looking flat under the intense strobe lights. The photographer used strong direct light to underexpose the environment and emphasize the subject. Although the background was still the typical exhibition hall ceiling and blurred crowds, the excellent color contrast made the theme of the frame highly distinct.

I especially love the puffy sleeve design of the sleeve covers in this outfit; in addition to the long black arm sleeves, the white lace at the wrists also forms a lovely echo with the decorations at the collar. Moreover, in the subsequent shots, I adjusted many sitting poses—either supporting myself with both hands on the ground or crossing them in front of my knees. These casual postures actually do a better job of reflecting the character's original personality settings. The coordination of the outfit and the collaboration with the photographer went exceptionally smoothly; everyone worked in perfect harmony with the lighting, angles, and actions. Although this kind of Convention photo has a slightly cluttered background, this authenticity is exactly what I find most full of life. I hope every set of Convention photos can accurately convey the unique traits of different characters through the lens.

Lastly, although this outfit looks exceptionally gorgeous, the multi-layered ruffled skirt hem and the heavy black fabric actually restrict movement quite a bit. Especially having to hold a tray while standing, it was a major test of my physical strength and core. Nonetheless, being able to leave this record in the exhibition hall was still an incredibly happy experience.
