Today, I'm sharing an official photoshoot for the evening gown version of Sorasaki Hina from Blue Archive. This deep Purple dress strapless gown carries fantastic quality—the fabric has an innate delicate shimmer, casting subtle glimmers under interior studio strobes. The neckline was styled with a statement necklace piecing together lustrous pearls and deep sapphires, matched with violet satin opera gloves to maintain a cohesive chromatic balance.

Styling the hair took considerable time to refine. The white wig was first thoroughly detangled, then partitioned to tie two high odango buns, leaving ample long strands flanking the forehead to slim facial lines. Securing the black ribbons and purple satin streamers at the sides of the crown was essential, as they also anchored the curved black Demon horns. The violet crisscross lattice lines on the horns were hand-painted using acrylics. To stay faithful to canon, I wore pointed elf-ear props and rich violet circle lenses. In terms of makeup, the priority was eye enlargement—using prominent false lashes and sharply winged eyeliner, paired with a fair matte foundation and soft peach lip tint.

While shooting, I realized this strapless bodice places high demands on shoulder and neckline posture. To capture the grand bow at the back of the dress alongside the full scope of the hairstyle, I struck an over-the-shoulder turning pose. This angle beautifully framed the gown's back tailoring and highlighted the dimensional depth between the twin buns and flowing hair. Images 1 and 2 are frontal self-portraits emphasizing front rhinestones and satin glove details—slightly ducking the chin in Image 1 slims the face, while resting a hand gently against the chest in Image 2 lends narrative intimacy to the frame.

When cosplaying formal gown versions of characters, posture management is just as crucial as the wig and garments. Keeping shoulders open and the spine tall is the only way to carry a strapless gown with grace. Lighting on set was generous; a cool white key light shifted the entire composition into a cooler palette, harmonizing with the deep purple gown to evoke a serene, enigmatic aura. In post-production retouching, I focused on preserving skin texture while slightly enhancing tonal contrast.

The entire shoot flowed smoothly, taking roughly two hours from makeup check to final hair adjustments. Standing for hours in high heels was tiring, but seeing the final proofs made every bit of effort worthwhile. Packed with intricate details—from micro-rhinestones on the dress to hand-painted lattice on the horns—everything materialized on camera just as envisioned. I hope this chronicle offers valuable styling and shooting references to fellow cosplayers portraying this look.
