From the trial fitting to the official shoot, this loungewear look for Tachibana Nozomi from Blue Archive was created around an effortlessly relaxed, cozy cosplay vibe. The light green wig was styled with blunt bangs, tying off the left sideburn with a taupe hair scrunchie to keep the styling from feeling flat. The elf ears were a focal prop, requiring a snug fit along the ear contours and skin-tone invisible tape so that no edges showed under the high-key brightness of the pure white studio. The green halo overhead was suspended with two strands of fine fishing line, adjusting the height and angle between takes to ensure it looked visually floating without casting shadows across facial lighting. The black devil tail at the back was an added accent, introducing a playful fantasy fusion alongside the Elf ears cosplay.
For the outfit, the base layer is a light-green dress with a white lapel collar and a light-blue bow at the neckline, finished with delicate frills along the cuffs and skirt hem. Draped over it is a beige plaid fringed shawl of medium weight, which softened the lines across my shoulders and arms. Instead of standard uniform loafers, I coordinated playful blue-and-yellow slippers—a detail that effectively countered any formality in the garment, infusing the frame with authentic everyday life.
The shooting location was arranged in a studio with seamless pure-white backdrop paper, eliminating cluttered visual distractions. The lighting utilized an overhead key light combined with softboxes on both sides and bounce reflectors; the overall color temperature was kept slightly cool to flatter the cool tones of the light green wig and dress, rendering the palette clean and translucent.
In terms of action choreography, movements revolved mainly around the beanbag chair and a white mug. Sinking into the beanbag chair with body weight leaning back and legs extended forward leveraged the wide-angle lens to elongate leg lines and highlight a slender silhouette. Crossing the legs added depth to the composition while allowing the gathers of the skirt to drape naturally. Holding the mug while tilting my head down or meeting the lens easily evoked a casual resting state at home. Standing poses focused on the drape of the shawl and the quirky charm of the slippers, folding hands naturally around the mug and angling my torso slightly so light caught the contours of my profile and wig layers.
For facial expressions, rather than chasing broad laughter or dramatic emotion, the focus remained on nuanced micro-expressions—parting lips slightly, shifting the gaze subtly toward the camera, or gently twirling strands of the light green wig. A pure-white backdrop places high demands on detail because light bounces throughout the space; stray shadows quickly break the overall cleanliness, so we continually adjusted the reflectors to eliminate unwanted shadows beneath the chin and neck.
The entire shoot was remarkably relaxing. The charm of this loungewear styling lies in intertwining fantasy motifs with cozy cosplay, needing no convoluted acting—just allowing that carefree weekend lounging mood to emerge naturally. The lens caught numerous unscripted gestures, and the color balance alongside the soft lighting perfectly realized the envisioned outcome.
