This set of photos is the twins' Convention photos of Ram and Rem, taken at the convention site on Saturday. There were many lights on site, and the lighting was quite chaotic. The photographer used a large softbox for lighting to restore the white texture of the dresses themselves as much as possible.
In terms of makeup and styling, the pink and blue wigs took a long time to trim. To recreate the bangs covering one eye, we tried several times. The eye makeup and eye colors were also adjusted accordingly; pink and blue eye colors fit this setting perfectly. There are many lace trimmings and bows on the clothes, which took a lot of time to put on, especially the straps on the chest. They needed to be adjusted to the right tightness to show off good body proportions without being too tight. The long ribbons on the back easily trip people when walking, so special attention was needed during the shoot.
The skirts are very puffy and needed frequent arranging, otherwise they would easily collapse. The combination of White stockings and chunky high heels makes the leg lines look very slender, but it is indeed tiring for the feet; standing for a long time causes slight swelling. Fortunately, it was a duo cosplay, so we could help each other arrange the skirts and check if the bangs were messed up.
The poses in these photos were all planned out. The first one is the two of us standing together, lifting our skirts while making a V-sign; the lighting in this one is excellent, and the leg lines are also visible. The second one is a squatting pose; it was hard to keep balance while half-squatting during the shoot, and my thighs got sore after holding it for a while. The third one is a pose facing away from the camera and looking back; this pose has high requirements for back posture and facial expression control, as it requires turning back to look at the lens while keeping the face looking pretty. The fourth one is a hugging pose from behind; this completely relied on the other person holding my hands, making it look very intimate.
There were many people lining up to take photos at the convention, and passersby frequently entered the frame. The shooting schedule was very tight, and we changed locations several times midway before finding a corner with a clean background. The high-intensity shoot was indeed very tiring, but seeing the final photos made it feel like everything was worth it.
This shoot accumulated some insights, such as how to use the shadows of the skirts when lighting, and how to secure the wigs so they don't easily get messy. Next time I go to a convention, I should have more experience. As a cosplayer, improving one's own state to cooperate with the photographer's lens is a very important part. Although it is hard work, the shooting process is also very enjoyable.
