[Raiden Shogun cosplay] When Raiden Shogun and Kamisato Ayaka Put on Office Lady Uniforms

This time, my partner and I teamed up to shoot an Office Lady uniform version of Raiden Shogun and Kamisato Ayaka from Genshin Impact. Moving away from Inazuma's traditional kimonos and battle armor, we wanted to explore the visual chemistry that would spark if these two characters met in a modern corporate setting.

In terms of wardrobe styling, we didn't go for identical twin outfits. One of us wore a sleeveless white button-down, while the other wore a short-sleeved blouse with rolled cuffs, paired with the same high-waisted black pencil skirt. To heighten the modern workplace authenticity, we both wore company ID badges on blue lanyards. Raiden Shogun retained her signature deep purple long hair and golden hairpiece, while Kamisato Ayaka kept her pale silver twin ponytails tied with pink ribbon bows. For makeup, I deliberately chose a deeper red lip paired with sharp, clean eyeliner to ground the heavy contrast between light and dark tones across the outfits. On the lower half, sheer Black tights outfit aesthetics combined with patent leather platform pumps formed the centerpiece of the look, elongating leg lines and carving out an assertive executive presence.

The photoshoot was divided into two distinct settings: indoor and nighttime outdoor. Indoors, we chose a space featuring pitched wooden skylights, utilizing abundant natural daylight to highlight the textures of the crisp white shirts and black stockings. To make the most of this gorgeous light, we refined several interactive poses: one where I knelt on one knee with a hand resting on my partner's leg, and another where we leaned against the table with legs crossed. These interactive poses kept the compositions dynamic while thoroughly showcasing the tailored cut of the OL attire and the sleek visual finish of the black hosiery.

For the nighttime session, we relocated outdoors to an area flanked by bamboo blinds and wooden verandas, incorporating white porcelain cups and a sake carafe as props to evoke an after-work wind-down ambiance. However, shooting at night was no easy feat—the lighting was tricky and mosquitoes were out in force. In low-light conditions, ensuring both the subtle sheen across the black stockings and crisp facial clarity tested both the photographer's precision and our expression control. Walking across gravel in high heels was a true balancing act, but to preserve poised posture on camera, we kept our backs straight and leg muscles engaged throughout.

Throughout the shoot, we continuously calibrated the subtle mindset of both characters. Raiden Shogun is, after all, the majestic Electro Archon; even dressed in corporate workwear, her gaze must project indisputable command and authority, prompting poses like standing tall with arms crossed. Kamisato Ayaka, on the other hand, possesses an intrinsically gentle and dignified grace; in modern attire, I leaned toward more understated poses with subtle eye contact, like sitting and glancing toward my partner or holding a small porcelain cup.

Translating this concept into reality took considerable thought: marrying 2D characters with a contemporary corporate aesthetic requires high stylistic coherence. Though the outfits appear straightforward, the tailoring is remarkably unforgiving. To present flawless silhouettes, we repeatedly adjusted garment lines and smoothed out the fit of the stockings before shooting. Looking back on the entire session, despite physical fatigue, seeing the final photos strike that seamless balance between Genshin Impact character recognition and sleek modern professionalism made every bit of effort worthwhile.
