【Nahida Cosplay】Genshin Impact Dendro Archon Bunny, A Natural Elf in a Pure White Studio - Image 1

The theme of this shoot is focused on a derivative look of the Dendro Archon Nahida, adding fluffy white bunny ear elements to blend a touch of playful cuteness into her original elven aura. The white bunny ears on top of the head and the pointy elf ears on both sides create a wonderful 2D mix-and-match feel in the overall styling. The main body of the costume adopts a white color palette that highly aligns with the character setting, paired with various shades of dark green and emerald green. Especially the heavy collar scarf at the neckline nicely anchors the flowing nature of the white tulle, giving the overall styling layers without making it look top-heavy.

These photos were taken at Kasumi Studio. The studio's all-white seamless background is perfect for outfits with such high-saturation colors. While many players choose outdoor locations to present Dendro elements, I believe white background photography can maximize the expression of clothing details. Regarding white studio photography, the biggest challenge is exposure control and capturing depth. If the contrast cannot be pulled apart from the white background, the subject easily sinks into it. The photographer is highly experienced in lighting, using rim lighting to outline the edges of my hair. Especially those green-highlighted hair strands revealed a very clear and translucent sheen under the light, amping up the Anime-style photography quality.

The white round platform I stood on was also a very clever prop. It limited the range of my movements, which instead made my body language more focused. I chose to gently lift the white tulle on both sides of the skirt with my hands, letting it drape naturally with gravity, creating a visual effect similar to spreading petals. The white lace leg warmers on my calves and the green flower ties at my ankles echoed each other. Going barefoot not only fit certain characteristics of the character but also allowed the lines of my entire body to stretch out more comfortably. Every time I bent over to adjust the creases of these accessories, the green four-leaf clover pattern on the dress would present a different shape.

For makeup, this look toned down the aggressiveness of the eye makeup, using relatively soft warm-toned eyeshadows to bring out a gentle feel. Meanwhile, due to the addition of the bunny ears, the blush area was slightly increased to give the face a more youthful roundness. Many hairpins were used to secure the hair part, as the weight on the top of the head increased with the bunny ears and headpieces. Many cosplayers probably share this feeling—after shooting for a while, there's a bit of pressure on the crown of the head, but to maintain the look's integrity, you just push through it. Looking at the previews, compared to a strictly rigid 1:1 recreation, this kind of styling that retains character traits while mixing in new elements actually has a higher success rate for great photos because it brings fresher visual experiences.

During post-processing, I kept the high-key style of the white background photography, appropriately reducing highlight overflow so that the textures of the white tulle folds remained clear. I also didn't do too much hard-edge processing on the outlines of the elf ears and bunny ears, letting them blend naturally into the background. Actually, I've been shooting Genshin Impact related characters for a while now, but every time I put on a different version of an outfit, I can experience a different side of the character's personality in various scenarios. Although there weren't many complex props for this shoot, through the combination of the white background, clothing textures, and physical movements, we could still shape a memorable image. I hope the natural state presented through going barefoot and lifting the skirt can convey the freshness inherent to this character concept.

The white tulle material of the costume is light and soft. Although there are many folds, it can still display flowing lines under the effect of gravity. Meanwhile, the dark green neckline part consists of a fabric with a certain stiffness, and this contrast between soft and hard materials gives the photos more texture. Although the studio lighting looks simple, the color reproduction presented from every angle is highly accurate, making the interaction between me, the white background, and the round platform prop appear much more pure. Though this outfit is short, a lot of thought went into its design—for instance, the tiny gold textures on the edge of the cuffs would be hard to notice if not at such close proximity in the studio, and the photographer's lens helped me capture these microscopic details.
