Let's start right with the concept and style of this shoot. This time, I tried an Asuka Cosplay with a punk styling, adding a touch of rebellion to the classic character. Since the original design features a plugsuit, switching to this mixed-and-matched style featuring studs, leather, and plaid elements created a visual clash that I personally love.
Let's talk about the gear I'm wearing. For the head, I chose a solid black leather beret intentionally styled with cat-ear or little-devil-horn accents to add a playful touch. The top is a cropped black midriff-baring piece paired with a white-collared shirt and a red-and-black plaid necktie. The true essence of this outfit, in my opinion, lies in the lower half: a black pleated leather skirt with red-and-black plaid spliced along the hem, so whenever I walk or a breeze blows, the skirt's dimensional layering fully comes to life.
To echo the punk theme, the legs are paired with black Stockings featuring circular sheer peekaboo cutouts, while a leather leg garter is added to the right thigh, visually elongating the leg lines. For footwear, I picked a pair of exaggerated black wide-flare leg covers, similarly patterned with red-and-white stripes and red-and-black plaid; slipping them on instantly maxes out that millennium Y2K vibe.
The shoot took place on a city rooftop. During the softer afternoon light, we captured a few quieter shots—glancing down in deep thought or standing in profile. By evening, as the setting sun intertwined with thick cloud cover, I truly let loose with my movements. For instance, in the shot where I'm standing on one leg with arms fully outstretched, just as a gust of wind passed by, I leaned my upper body backward with the momentum, letting my skirt hem and long hair flutter naturally. Such dynamic movements heavily test core strength, but the resulting tension and punk aesthetic are exceptionally striking.
On the makeup front, to match the overall color tone, the eye makeup was layered slightly heavier, paired with blue circle lenses to faithfully reproduce the character's eye color. Since some poses in the photos are quite cool, the gaze needed that tsundere yet sharp intensity; the low-angle upward shot captured that unyielding, competitive spirit perfectly.
Regarding the 'out of character' apology mentioned in my previous post, it's actually a bit of a personal obsession of mine. Although I kept her signature long orange hair, the attire completely departs from the combat plugsuit, shifting into a street-and-punk-leaning look. I find this kind of attempt to break away from established frameworks fascinating, as it showcases another side of her bold and unrestrained personality. Even though the rooftop wind left my hair a bit messy throughout the shoot, the final photos successfully captured that effortless, cool attitude in its entirety.
