Shooting on-site at an anime convention was actually quite challenging for a Convention photo. The venue lighting was extremely complex, with overhead incandescent bulbs intertwining with colorful ambient lights from distant booths. Since the outfit had substantial glossy textures, glare was severe under harsh lighting, requiring constant angle adjustments during the shoot to avoid direct harsh light and seek out soft diffuse illumination. To bring out the rich texture of the faux leather, the photographer used a wide-aperture prime lens to blur out the messy crowds and booths in the background. The first photo was taken in a convention hall passageway; there was heavy foot traffic at the time, so we waited quite a while for a clear gap to avoid capturing passersby.

For example, when shooting this kind of clothing, one should avoid overhead midday lighting as much as possible, use bounce reflectors for fill light, or seek shaded areas to eliminate greasy glare and capture the premium texture of leather materials. Although a Convention photo is often the product of a fast-paced environment, one can still pursue ultimate refinement in composition and detail in Anime-style photography. Many convention attendees came over to take photos, and I gladly cooperated with playful poses—the unique, bustling vibrancy of the exhibition is an essential part of the charm of any Convention photo. Overall, the costume fidelity and final shooting results completely met expectations, largely thanks to the photographer's candid captures and mastery of light and shadow, filling this photo set with dramatic tension.
