Putting on this Tsukatsuki Rio outfit, my initial impression was that it felt effortlessly casual, yet the garment details are exceptionally demanding on camera. The tight-fitting white turtleneck sweater requires an immaculate fit against the body, as any small crease becomes starkly visible under the lens; hence, I spent plenty of time smoothing out the collar and cuffs before shooting. Down below, I wore a black pleated mini skirt paired with sheer black stockings. Since such classic basics can easily look plain, I invested extra thought into the hair, makeup, and props.
The halo prop atop my head was the focal point of this cosplay: a black ring accented with red curved graphics, secured to the wig using a clip branded with a white '7' numeral. Because the piece is very lightweight, head movements had to be carefully restrained—checking its alignment after any head turn was essential to avoid an awkward break in character. The red contact lenses also played a vital role in elevating the character's demeanor; under cool ambient light, the crimson reflections gave the look an authentic 2D quality.
The photoshoot took place indoors, centered on a black leather sofa as the main prop. With only a plain white wall in the background, the light could easily fall flat. The photographer took great care with the lighting design, using overhead lighting to carve out the knit texture of the sweater and the subtle sheen along the stockings. To evoke the 'leisure time' theme of the title, in photo one I slipped off one of the red-soled high heels, resting my bare foot on the leather sofa with legs crossed while leaning back. This pose highlighted the leg lines gracefully, while the discarded high heel and black sofa added an effortless touch of casual spontaneity. The leather sofa was quite slick, so maintaining core balance while holding this pose kept my thigh muscles continually engaged.
In photo two, I added a black tailored blazer and a blue lanyard ID card, holding a gaming controller in hand. The structured drape of the suit jacket formed a rich textural clash against the soft knit sweater and sheer stockings. The ID badge added a hint of professional office flair which, paired with the gamepad, illustrated that relaxing moment of unwinding with video games on the couch after a long workday. To enrich the composition, an artificial potted plant was introduced to the background, preventing the palette from staying purely monochrome.
Throughout the shoot, most of my communication with photographer @波波是JIM centered on eye contact and body language. Rather than forcing rigid poses, the goal was to look authentically at ease—keeping the gaze relaxed while maintaining clean, taut lines along the jawline and neck to present a languid yet refined aesthetic. After kicking off the shoes, the black floor was undeniably chilly; arching my instep slightly in photo one was a natural physical response to the cold, which ironically lent an extra layer of authenticity to the atmosphere. Overall, balancing costume fidelity with ambient storytelling made this shoot a genuinely comfortable and rewarding creative experience.
