[Remilia cosplay] Mirror selfie record of the pink tiered skirt hem - Image 1

For this pink Remilia styling shoot, organizing the layering of the skirt hem actually required the most painstaking effort. Taking a mirror selfie at home doesn't require worrying about complex natural light like outdoor shoots, but figuring out how to present the full outfit's details within a limited mirror space still took quite a bit of time. I chose this Pink Lolita-style tiered long dress dominated by pink tones. The entire dress is pieced together from multiple layers of lightweight fabric with a subtle sheen, and every edge features meticulous fine pleating. To keep the overall color from feeling too monotonous, dark red piping and lace are dotted along the neckline, cuffs, and every tiered joint of the skirt hem, visually preserving the sweetness of pink while adding a sense of grounded depth and layering. The matching headwear is a lace soft cap in the same color scheme, where the wavy ruffles along the edge beautifully frame the head contour, making the entire Lolita outfit look complete.

Regarding the tailoring of this garment, the upper bodice adopts a high-waisted design, with lettuce edges and a row of lace buttons across the chest imparting a vintage style feel. The puff sleeves possess the right amount of fluffiness without making the shoulders look overly broad, while the red bows on the cuffs echo nicely with the red decorations on the neckline. The lower skirt hem is extremely fluffy; to ensure the skirt can fan out completely when standing, I paired it with a supportive petticoat underneath, allowing it to flawlessly hold up so many layers of lightweight fabric and present an ideal bell-shaped silhouette. To accommodate the shoot for this outfit, I also deliberately adjusted the mirror's placement to guarantee capturing full-body visual effects.

During the shoot, I didn't opt for complex backgrounds, choosing instead to utilize my everyday home environment. Even though I wore a pair of black indoor slippers for comfort on my feet, it paradoxically generated a charming sense of contrast. Tidy up the hair, adjust the headwear position, and lift the phone to hunt for suitable angles, ensuring the skirt's full appearance and details are captured as thoroughly as possible. To make the skirt hem appear more breezy and flowy, I would gently turn my body or slightly lift a portion of the skirt with my hand to display its lightweight texture. In practical execution, due to the excessive skirt layers, holding the phone with one hand while simultaneously managing the skirt's shape heavily tested arm stability; slight shaking would blur the image, so I had to try multiple angles before finally freezing this exact shot.

The entire process was ultimately a dual test of patience and physical endurance. The pleats of every skirt layer needed to be smoothed out to avoid looking bulky before the lens. Though the final photo is simply a mirror selfie, from the preliminary garment ironing and dressing to the subsequent angle adjustments, every single step was brimming with contemplation on character interpretation. This shooting method of excavating garment details within a limited space also granted me a deeper understanding of costume silhouettes and details. Being able to showcase Remilia's unique temperament in my own way, this mirror selfie record has already met all expectations.
